In reality, there is probably no such thing.
But of course it is possible to create a script for it.

Hi Jack,

I saw one of your .gifs had an O'Neil Cylinder in it. Do you have that model? If so can you add it to this thread or point me to it?
My specs:
Rig #1 MSI Z370 GAMING - CPU i7-8700k, RAM 32gb, GPU Nvidia 1080ti 11GB VRAM
Rig #2 Gigabyte X99-UD4 - CPU E5-2658V3, RAM 32gb, GPU AMD RX480 8GB VRAM

Do you mean this O'Neill cylinder?
This is not a model. This is just an ordinary script. And it does not work very well either.
And frankly, I currently do not know where I have this script. I have to search for it first.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks for searching.

Animated Jupiter clouds

There have been various requests for animated Jupiter clouds.

Animated Jupiter clouds were tested in SE 0.97 and SE 0.971.
So to get animated clouds in SE 0.980, you need to get the Jupiter textures from SE 0.97 or SE 0.971.
You can download older SE versions here: History of SpaceEngine

Copy the whole folder 'textures\planets\Jupiter' from this old version to 'addons\textures\planets'.

You also need one of these two scripts.
JupAnimClouds.sc
(5.16 KiB) Downloaded 464 times
JupAnim10000.sc
(5.18 KiB) Downloaded 446 times
(Put one of this files in 'addons\catalogs\planets'.)
One is for normal cloud speed, the second for 10000x accelerated speed. (So that the cloud movement is visible at all.)

If I recall correctly, there were two different texture directories for SE 0.971.
'textures\planets' and 'textures\planets_hires'.
If you wanted the hires version, you had to copy them into the folder 'planets'.

Hey JackDole, just wanna say thank you. Your addons are some of my favorites because I think, I am a bit crazy about megastructures. But it's also the way of tweaking around with the ingame possibilities, the shaping and aligning of spheres in something different, like collectors, station modules or ring orbitals. Really feels like the engineers are taking celestial bodies and reshape them with their spaceborn industry.
Unfortunatly the lightning is wrong on your ring orbitals (I mean the inside wall closer to the parent star is illuminated and the inside wall facing to the sun is in shadow; e.g. Andwari's Ring) but this is the only way it works with this method. You tried the discoworld back then with two suns to counteract that lightning issue?

Your mini suns are also an interesting concept, sun for pluto and the Lonly rogue planet.

I made myself a minisun for Uranus with your script, enjoying tRetro-Visor's "Uranus missing data" even more. So cheers to tRetro-Visor, too

Proxima Centauri c

A potential new planet in the Proxima Centauri system.

Except the approximate 'Mass', 'SemiMajorAxis' and 'Period' is not much known. The planet probably has a ring.

So my planet is for the most part fictional.
