Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

What! 2 planats are not on the line?
It's a system made of 3 asteroids, so it has 2 barycenters. What you selected in the image it's the barycenter of those 2 and it rotates around the main one with the third asteroid, which is nearby. If you accelerate the time, you will see how interesting is the motion of all 3 asteroids.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

A common rendering issue, but this is the first time it has happened after my Screen Saver turned on when I turned my back for a minute or 10. Shaking my mouse very, very slowly brought SE back up, only to find these holes in the ozone, as you can see. Also first time I noticed them in multiple directions. Could it be part of the Black Monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey?  :o

I did happen to update the new GeForce drivers just the day before, and this glitch has only happened once, before or since. Although now every time I come out of a screen saver that has been on a while, and I was recording video, it took a long moment to return to the SE screen. I have not altered my recording methods.

New GeForce drivers installed now:

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

Im attempting to install the game. Got the file from http://spaceengine.org/media/2016/12/SE ... xe.torrent, I am seeing an issue trying to install

"C:\SpaceEngine\data\music\AstroPilot - A Drowning (SE Edit).ogg

An error occured while trying to copy a file:
The source file is corrupted"

Im seeing this error with files for "AstroPilot - Betelgeuse.ogg", "AstroPilot - Earth's Moon", "AstroPilot - Gravity Free", "AstroPilot - Hidden Planet", "AstroPilot - Inverted Worlds"

and probably the rest but I can't be bothered to check each one while installing.

Probably an issue during download, please try again if you prefer torrent. Otherwise, I see mirrors 1 and 2 are not responding, but other links work fine. Downloaded file should be around 1.02GB.

Yeah I was hoping to not have to do that again. Worked this time.

If it's torrent, you should just need to check the download from your torrent software. BitTorrent has checksums so it can verify if the download is corrupted or not and just re-download the bad bits.

But then, given the checksum, it's surprising that you would get corruptions in the first place since the files are checked while downloading. Maybe your drive is corrupted instead (in Windows Explorer, right click on a drive > Properties > Tools tab > Check button)? Or maybe your drive is full?

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

I'm seeing this on planets close to stars, the terrain goes transparent when zooming out. But zoomed in close enough, it appears solid. Didn't happen in the previous versions. I have the latest graphics drivers installed.

Can you please attach your se.log file, located in the system subsection of the SpaceEngine folder (not the game)

I'm having an issue getting planet surfaces to render (outside of our solar system). All procedural planets I visit are rendered in a blurry texture with no depth or variation. I've attached the SE log for reference. I've tried all of the suggestions within the forum; updating drivers, reinstalling, adjusted LOD settings, nothing has worked so far.

cjbutl,
as I see, you have the latest driver for your graphics card. This may be the problem. Nvidia drivers have occasionally caused problems. Then you have to try to install an older driver.

First, however, delete the 'cache' folder in the SpaceEngine directory. Maybe that solves your problem already.

LightShader, yes that is it. I unfortunately can't use it to help you because i don't know how Space Engine works, maybe somebody who knows how Space Engine works can help :)
