This is something that I've beeing working in months (I'm a novice yet) with the help of klud
This is so great! Thanks to both of you. Klud made some impressive addons back in the day and many of us have always wanted to know how. There are infinitely many potential addons using LRO and MRO data (images and altimetry) and I've always wanted to try, but this seems to be a complicated thing to do without advice. Is there a possibility for Klud or you to make an in-depth tutorial or at least show your workflow in creating these addons?
Yes

, actually it's not that complicated when you have someone who can teach you very well (In this case, Klud ♥).
My next map will be Las Vegas and some locations that are occupied by the 5th level tile #5_3_8, it is the tile that it's before the #5_3_9 or being more specific, the Klud's Grand Canyon addon.
To make the Hawaiian Islands, I had to use 3 tiles of 5th level, and after that, find the 7th level tiles of each one respectively.
I will give you a small tutorial of the tiles, I think this is the first main thing you need to do before you download any elevation map.
By example:
Every tile has 256x256 px in resolution as you know, but in those tiles there are 2 pixels in addition on each side of the tile, like a border, this is for overlapping rendering.
Let's use Hawaii Big Island for example or the tile #5_9_23.
This tile has a resoltuion of 256 pixels, it is from the 5th level, but if we want to have this whole map but in the 7th level, you need to cut the borders of each tile (doing this with canvas size, reduce it to 252 pixels) of the 7th level and combine them using photoshop (DO NOT merge them, just put them like a puzzle).
This might be "detailed" in comparisson of the 256 tile, cutting al the borders of the correspondent 7th level tiles of the 5th level makes a single image with a resolution of 1008x1008 pixels, you may ask yourself how we manage to make the detail of the map in the mod? Well... It's not that easy to explain, I will need to make a post about it, but at the moment I will show you how I did to make the "base" for the downloaded map from NED or The National Map and processed in QGIS.
Now that we have the 7th tile of the map, in photoshop, you just expand this big 7th tile of 1008x1008 pixels to 32256x32256 pixels (Please, when you are in the expanding process of the image (Image size in photoshop) please use the option "Bilineal" so you won't find any artifacts on the image, just after this process, you can merge all the canvas to your image. (PLEASE TAKE IN COUNT THAT THIS RESOLUTION ONLY WORKS FOR 10 METERS RESOLUTION OF DEM MAPS)
Now you might realise how big in pixels resolution would be the planet earth with this detail. Now there's a final step to create your big map a base for the downloaded map that you will have to process it too for make it fit on it, now if you don't have the GIS editor I have download it, it's called QGIS 3. I will make a tutorial from 0 to end of how I worked on Hawaii Islands.
PD: Basically, 3 tiles of 32768x32768 pixels are like 98304x32768 Pixels LOL.
