Thanks for that, but I think the issue with the larger ship is likely something in the model itself I messed up, Blender does not finish exporting as .obj file.

I tried a much smaller ship, proof of concept, if you will (proof that I could take a Blender model and import it into Space Engine ;)).

Still has a few minor issues, but I'll keep plugging away at it and keep you posted.

It's strange... maybe it's just too big. These modules are quite heavy.
If you want, send me the original blend file so i'll take a look.

In the past few days I have exported the individual modules on SE in order to be able to build ships with .sss files with all engine effects and docking ports correctly positioned (I want to do the same also for station modules).
Unfortunately a small shoulder accident will keep me away from the PC for some time :-(

Meantime a little example:

Nice.

I was going to export your individual ship modules for this very reason. Seems you've beat me to it. :)

I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

in fact, I followed your idea! :-P
I hope in this way it could be easier for everyone to build their own models and I also imagine that it requires less RAM. I'm not sure, but it seems to make sense :-)
I wish you a full and speedy recovery.
Thanks!!

I finished the insertion of the interplanetary spaceship modules (with engine effects and docking port), now I'm building a few ships. I also added a minishuttle.

Later on I will prepare the individual modules for the stations and for the interstellar spaceships.

Nice work. Big enough to fit the standard S.E. shuttle? And perhaps the Merlin 1?

I like were this is going. :)

My Minishuttles dock on the belly, while the standard shuttle dock on the back (and it is much bigger). standard shuttle can be docked at another module, not hangar, but I think I could also do a medium sized hangar for them :-)

Now we're talking. :)
Or you could release the modules individually, they can be scaled up somewhat.
You know, for the longest time I've been thinking of trying to make an add-on docking port for the Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer. Higher detail and resolution textures where you need them — when you're just a few meters away from the ship. Look forward to trying out your new stuff.

The dome cities addon is great! I love it! :D

Also, would it be possible for there to be an open-air/domeless version as well?
