Hi. Because there's an anti-spam lock for new users with few posts. In the meantime please use existing threads for your questions, they cover most of topics and there's quite the chance that your question fits in one of those.

You should be able to. Just go into a subforum, and there should be a red button called "new topic" in the top.
But please post your question in a existing topic, unless it does not fit in anywhere.

Greetings from the stars! It's wonderful to meet fellow space enthusiasts. I love outerspace and especially exoplanets, which we're learning so much about so quickly.

While in game, I paid a visit to VY Canis Majoris and noticed an exoplanet, called VY Canis Majoris 2 orbiting it. I googled, but could find nothing about this planet. Is it real, or was it just added in for the game?

Thank you.

Glad to see someone else who loves exoplanets! :)

If the planets have numbers to indicate in which orbit they are (VY Canis Majoris 2, Betelgeuse 8) they are generated, and if they are numbered by letters(HR 8799 b) they are real. Also if you found VY Canis Majoris 2, that means there is a VY Canis Majoris 1. :)
Also, since a lot of people are telling what their name was on the old forum, i wasn't on the old forum, only came to the new forum because Space Engine did not work and i wanted help. :)

Well hi. I took a recent interest in astonomy. I saw a bright star in the middle of the day and wanted to find out which one it was. I've now snowballed here. Anything I should know about the universe and or spaceengine? :P

Space Engine forum:

In case of bugs please attach your se.log file which is located in the system subfolder of the space engine folder, and post your bug report in the Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0 topic in the Troubleshooting and Solutions forum.

Don't spam posts containing nothing and keep doubleposting (posting two posts in a row in the same topic) to a minimum.

Space Engine:

The amount of SO2 in atmospheres of procedurally generated planets is way too high, atmosphere composition is still new.

All planet types apart from selenas and asteroids can have life.

Irregular galaxies have a tendency to kill framerate due to many blue stars.

Do NOT go into Omega Centauri (also known as NGC 5139) unless your pc is powerful, or you will have single-digit fps at best and your game crashing at worst.

Are you implying that asteroids are a type of planet?

I didn't want anyone to think asteroids can have life, sorry for the misunderstanding. :)
