Hello everyone. Wumbowolf here. Some of you might already know me from the Discord, but for those who don't, it's nice to finally join the forums. Been lurking for far too long. I hope to see this community grow as the program evolves over time. My goal here is to add something of value to the program someday.

Hello everyone,

I'm playing around with space engine since many years and must have spent an equal amount of time crawling through the mods and discussion topics.
Now I will become a little more active in the forum (also to share addons I am working on).
Profound bow to SpaceEngineer, for this incredible and awesome simulation and the beautiful evolution of it over time. And of course to all the active community, all the amazing addons and the threads about astronomy and the space journeys and beautiful SE cinematics on YT.

Curious, where this will be going in the future. I hope it never ends

Hi All, I am a newbie with SE. Today I installed it and it looks like a fantastic program. I have a question. When I search for any planet (like earth) and press [G], it shows the movement through space and "finds" the earth BUT earth is not rendered. I cannot see it or any other planet or asteroid. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

You probably have a non-SpaceEngine compatible graphics card. Probably an Intel HD 2000 or Intel HD 3000.
Some computers have a second graphics card. If this is the case with you, use this graphics card for SpaceEngine.

Hi All,

Although I'm new here, I use SE since years, what shows that I am quite fond of it and is my favorite astronomy software to date (though I used Celestia and Stellarium since their early days for quite some time).

As for my knowledge, I barely qualify as an amateur astronomer (though I do own an entry-level Celestron 70AZ telescope and go for Moon, planet and brighter Messier object hunting from time to time).

I am also a metalhead - my forum name is a reference to the song "The Observer" (i.e. Galileo Galilei), made by the German symphonic death metal band Haggard -, but I appreciate any "good" music in general.

It is nice to be part of the community!

Hello there!

Welcome to the SE forum. You sound very much like me when I first joined - having previously used SE and other astronomy programs for years while headbanging to some good metal strings  8-).

I thought I was registered years back, but guess not.  Either that or I forgot all my old information.  Anyways, just upgraded to the Steam Version from the previous Non-Steam one and was just trying to post a question in the forum, but assume since I'm new (again) I have to probably make a few normal posts before I'm authorized.

Anyways, just wanted to know if anything from the .980 pre steam version can be imported into the new Steam one?  Things like my bookmarks, naming of systems, stars, planets, etc?  I have converted the keys.cfg to match my old binds, but was just hoping I could at least save all the stuff I attributed in the other version to this one (thought it was in a .cfg file, but can't seem to find it)...

Hello everybody

I have not yet figured out how to open a thread here in the forum.
No matter.
I always took good screenshots with version 0.98. They were also easy to find on my hard drive.
Now I bought the version 0.99 of Steam and find ... nothing. : - /
Where are the screenshots saved in this version?

Greetings
Gerhard

Hi Gerhard,
SpaceEngine 0990 is saving its screenshots exactly where 0980 does, under a subfolder named \screenshots under SpaceEngine installation folder.  In Steam version, <SteamFolder>\steamapps\common\SpaceEngine\screenshots. Click on the camera icon on the bottom-right toolbar in your screen and SE will take a screenshot and will open up the screenshots folder for you.
see Forum Rules for an answer about threads.

Yeah I read it before and now again and still can't seem to find the forum thing about how to post a new thread in the Support for new people with the "observer" title. I could be blind, which isn't all too uncommon when staring at A class stars so much as in my case, but still...
