Hello,
I just joined this forum after testing SE a little.
I searched for the Orion nebula and I found a reddish region.
But it turned out to be dirt on my screen:-)

Space isn't cold; space is nothing. The medium that permeates it is usually cold but is sometimes extremely hot.

Andromeda is only going to crash into the Milky Way only in the same sense two clouds can "crash" into each other. They'll pass through each other and become an elliptical galaxy. The chance of two stars coming near each other won't increase much, it'll only be as dangerous as the amount of danger the Sun is in right now of approaching another star. The most Earth will be concerned about is disturbances in the Oort cloud sending debris inwards towards the tiny part of the Sun's gravitational influence that the planets occupy.

Hello people, new space engine user here and I'd just like to say that I very impressed and thoroughly lost. I've loads of questions about this and I'm sure there should be answers somewhere without asking questions that are probably already answered somewhere. So I suppose the first question is;

  - is there manual somewhere? The link to manual here only seems to mention the graphics options and nothing else?

and although I'll probably be asking in the wrong place I'll mention the questions that immediately spring to mind

  - How can I start this in a default position. The only start options seem to be tutorial, resume from last position or load someone elses scenario
  - Can I run this on two screens so the interface isn't right over the output display?
  - How can I run a scrip when I am already in the program (ie not as a startup option)?

I'm sure they are all answered somewhere and I'm probably asking in the wrong location, hence the first question.

Hello, new forum user from Italy here!

I actually used Space Engine for years.
Love to play it at night, put the headphones and immerse myself in the cosmic inifnity of the universe.
It's just an amazing sensorial experience.

I love to make videos montages too, i'll share some with you.

Have a godo day!
I don't sleep, i just dream
