First documentary to use this technology

06 Oct 2019 17:33

Hi!
How are you?

It will be a challenge for me but with space engine pro I will be able to record video clips to complement my documentary about water off Earth.
If the developers agree I plan to include them in credits.

It is expected to be ready, fully assembled by February 2020.

Anything you can write me.

PRO license allow you to do that, so no problem.

For smooth motion in your shots, I recommend switching to "Spacecraft" camera motion mode. That will smooth out any sudden input, but you will need to fight drift. I also recommend using a game controller for camera movement - map the controls so you can control FOV and movement in as comfortable a way as you can. There's also a camera path tool in the engine.

You can plot a course through 3D space for the camera to follow. In truth, I haven't used it in about a year, so I can't remember how to access it, and it wasn't very stable then (This was on a Development build, I was on the Steam Beta).

Oh, is that like- if I want to make a video of a space trip from Earth to Proxima Centauri, something I would need to use?  I've wanted to do that and save voyages but haven't found any options to do so.  "Go there" is a convenient feature to have but it doesn't really give the space trip vibe to me.

Thank you.I wanted to confirm it.By the way I have idea of putting you in the credits so that the great software that you have made is seen.

Thanks for your advice, any help is appreciated.

Yes, I believe you could do that, but it's designed for more local stuff, like planning out specific camera moves and then having the camera fly that path repeatably - so you don't need to manually navigate the camera each time. You can use that to manage other aspects, like unpausing time to cue events (such as spacecraft manoeuvres) or changing FOV or exposure without needing to juggle camera motion.
