I'm pretty sure Interstellar soundtrack won't be included any time soon

Unless you feel like coughing up a few dozen grand to help pay for the usage rights, probably not.

Just put the music in the SpaceEngine > data> music folder
SpaceEngineer advises against this in their addons guide; the addons folder was conceived to allow this sort of editing without changing the game's files itself as long as you mirror the data folder inside your addon. Create a folder structure in addons folder as so:

addons/[put addon name here]/music
and put the music inside this folder.

If you want, you can copy the context.cfg from the data music folder and put it in your addon then change or add a few things if you want the music to play differently depending on the context. Keep the existing data inside the copied config unless you want SE to only play Interstellar music in context mode; SE does not append the data in the addon music cfg to the data music cfg, it loads the former over the latter.

Any changes made to the data folder are wiped out by Steam then you run "verify game files". So you must use addons folder for experiments.

Yeah, you guys are right! My bad. I was still using the pre-steam version the last time I've done that kind of stuff, unfortunately I haven't been using SpaceEngine very often lately.

As a long-time user of Spaceengine, I was very happy to see the last two news articles.

I was wondering, how is the work on atmospheres going? SpaceEingineer's post from 16 March 2021 seems not to have been implemented yet. Will it have to wait until 3D clouds are fully implemented?

I hope you and your family is okay during these difficult times.

We are fine, thanks.
That scatterign code is too slow for real-time use without optimizations like using precomputed lookup textures or drop of rendering resolution. We will try different methods during work on volumetric clouds.

After this new update is on, will be the gtx 2060 still enough to run the simulator?

A 1050Ti pushing a decade old is more than sufficient, you don't need to worry about a 2060 failing.

5.7 years is not what I'd call pushing a decade.
