I'd be curious to know the progress on the work for fuel and thermal systems for ships that were shown about 2 years ago, what was shown was really exciting but we haven't heard from it ever since!

After this new update is on, will be the gtx 2060 still enough to run the simulator?
Yes
and the GTX 1060 too I'd say since it's basically the same card with a new model number.

No it isn't, not even close.

Huh I read somewhere that the GTX 2060 was just a product refresh... I guess the 2060 is better even at 1080P?  The 1060 will work just fine with the new version of SE right?  I run it at 1280x1024 using the ultra preset and it works fine for me right now. I'm using rivatuner to measure frame rates and I see it's around 10 fps, which is just fine for me.  Using about 5.64 GB VRAM using the ultra preset.  I'm also running four browsers with about a dozen tabs each on my other screen in my dual monitor setup (both are 1280x1024).  It states that my GPU usage is 48%

No, it was a totally new GPU and much faster than the 1060.

New architecture I see, I confused the 1660 with the 2060 lol.
I see the 2060 and the 3060 are fairly similar in price?  Both are under 400 at any rate.  I'm thinking of upgrading when I add a 4K screen, would you say the 3060 12 GB card would be the best card for that?

Do not buy an old card right now, it's not worth it.

For under $400, your choice is between the RTX 3060 and the RX 6650 XT. The 3060 has more VRAM, better ray tracing performance, and access to better features (DLSS, NVENC, etc.), but it's also somewhat slower and more expensive than the 6650 XT. The best choice is whichever one aligns with your preferences and use case more.

New architecture I see, I confused the 1660 with the 2060 lol.

The 1660 was also not a refresh of the 1060, totally different architecture.

Thanks, well I am just running Space Engine Pro now.  Sometimes I also run Starry Night Pro Plus at the same time, because I want to have a view of my current sky map on one screen while I explore the universe on the other screen.  I actually have a frame rate limiter set on my 3D programs because I've found if the frame rate gets too high it eats up CPU usage.  I thought ray tracing only started with the 2xxx series?

I see there's a lot of new stuff coming out.  One thing I wanted to ask of you and also compliment you on is that no matter what the changes to the program are please do not ever change or ever delete this magnificently stable Star Wars ship you made.  After having downloaded over 200 ships of various types, this is still the ONLY one that can remain at a stable cruising altitude above a planet so I can view the planet like an airship and also use it as a starship.  This ship is some amazing piece of work!

RZ-1 A-Wing is its name.  It has a great cockpit view too.
I actually saved a copy of it on another drive in case it gets messed up somehow and also because I added additional cameras to it to fill up the 8 camera positions (the others in addition to the view ahead from behind, and the cockpit view, are over the left wing, and over the right wing, outside the ship on the left side, outside the ship on the right side, under the ship, and behind the ship).

I've had this ship cruising over this planet since Saturday night on my other screen and haven't had to make any adjustments to the engines or anything else.  This is exactly what I wanted for my videos!  So thanks and please don't alter this ship in any way or delete it from the Workshop as it's the ONLY ship I've found that can do everything I want it to do.  As a matter of fact if you could make more ships with these flight settings and with a cockpit view just like this, that would be great too!

No idea, but they were one of several cloud formations.  There was this very flat formation that looked like dashes moving back and forth and later on there were thicker clouds that looked like layers of fog.

Don't know if you saw this in the troubleshooting thread so I'll post it here too.

Is there a reason why after playing a certain number of music files that the soundtrack would automatically pause?  I'll give an example.  Okay so I have 400 sound files I've recorded in my music folder, all .ogg, of varying lengths, anywhere from 10 minutes long to 4 hours long (yes some are actually that long lol.)  After a certain number of files play, the soundtrack stops playing and pauses on a certain file, partway through it.  I did an experiment and moved some of the files to an alternate folder to see if that's the reason and what happened was that more files played but then it paused again, but further down my soundtrack list.  So is it logical to assume that the soundtrack stops playing after a set number of files or does it have to do with the total accumulated length of all the files that were played?  (I know it's not the length of the individual files that were paused because it's easily been able to play sound files that were 4 hours long and sometimes it pauses on files that are very short, like 10 minutes long.)  Is there anything I can do to get the entire 400 files to play in sequence without pause, do I have to edit the config file or something?  What do I do?

Hi, I am an old space engine user. I write to you for asking if the development of volumetric clouds is still working in progress or he had started on a recent period. Will this thing be developed on a next future? I really love the atmopheric weather like seeing the path of cyclones during forecasts, cumulonimbus, cirrus. I would like also to see their shadows on a planet surface. Space Engine needs to have this important update relating to atmospheres.

I thank you for a possible answer in view of the continuation of an hard work as developping a universe simulator on a pc!
