Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

23 May 2020 01:50

I'm getting an error on loading the steam version that says: error loading texture generator shaders.
Do you have an Intel graphics card? Then you should read this update blog: http://spaceengine.org/news/blog200509

I don't have a graphics card, I have a radeon partition of my amd processor. This has never been a showstopper before.

Post your 'se.log'. It is in the 'system' directory of SpaceEngine.
(You can use Pastebin for this and post the link here.)

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

25 May 2020 12:35

I have both a SpacePilot and SpaceNavigator 3D mice.

Neither will work correctly in Space Engine. When selecting the axis, it will either do nothing or give a random axis.

I have installed current and legacy drivers. I have also attempted to use the device with no drivers. Buttons will map, however the joystick controls will not.

Please let me know how and if this is fixable.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Hi,

I'm having problems with 0.990.39.1775 Beta. It loads up to the menu screen and then crashes immediately. I've tried updating my graphics drivers, verifying the Steam download & running the program as Administrator. None of these steps helps.

I've uploaded my log file here =>

I'd appreciate any advice that you can give to get SE running. I have run SE in the past without problems. I have 0.9.8.0 Beta on my machine & it still runs fine.

Try and delete the file main-user.cfg in SpaceEngine /config folder, delete the /cache folder.
If this doesn't work, open main-user.cfg and change the parameter:
    TextureCompress         true
in:
    TextureCompress         false
and see if it solves the issue.

You're using an old version of SpaceEngine, here there's an updated Steam version

It happens because now H264 and H265 hardware accelerated codecs make use of hardware encoding, which apparently your graphic card doesn't fully support. VP9/webm is encoded via software, so it works as long as your computer has needed software.

I think I did it right...
Sorry for the late reply.
You have a graphics card, an 'AMD Radeon HD 8670D', it is only integrated into the processor.
I found several warnings in your log file:
[MT] WARNING: seShader::InitUniformBuffer(): Uniform Block not found: "HdrDownUniforms"
...
[MT] WARNING: seShader::InitUniformBuffer(): Uniform Block not found: "ProjCylinderUniforms"
...
[MT] WARNING: seShader::InitUniformBuffer(): Uniform Block not found: "MipmapDownUniforms"
...
[MT] WARNING: seShader::InitUniformBuffer(): Uniform Block not found: "MipmapDownUniforms"
...
[MT] WARNING: seShader::InitUniformBuffer(): Uniform Block not found: "TgCommonUniforms"
...
Maybe these are the problem.
You could delete the 'cache' folder in the SpaceEngine directory. (I don't think it will be deleted if SpaceEngine is uninstalled.)
If that doesn't help, you can revert to the previous version of SpaceEngine until the problem has been resolved by the developers:
Beta-0.990.39.png
(As far as I know, there have been some problems with AMD cards lately.)

Many thanks to Mosfet for stepping up & giving assistance!

I've tried the above steps, but it hasn't helped. I did get past the menu screen one time, but the application crashed after 5 minutes and cannot be run since. I've also tried reinstalling openal, running as Administrator, running with Windows 7 compatibility and rebooting multiple times. Application crashes every time (30+ attempts) when it reaches the menu screen.

Latest log file =>

Do you have any further tips?

One reason could be that your computer seems to be quite old. (8 or 9 years?) The graphics card in any case is so old.

Anyway, your graphics card (GeForce GT 630M) is not in the list of computers that work with SE. Can My PC Run SpaceEngine?

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

01 Jun 2020 06:17

I've downloaded SE 0.990 in Steam. After installation when launching SE an error window appeared where the text was: "An error of loading generator texture shaders, press "YES" for disabled procedure planets". Then I pressed OK, but when the window of SE appeared, it was shut down with window "Program Space Engine doesn't work"
What it is?
