Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

14 Sep 2019 02:28

I dunno if this is a bug, posting here because I can't find where to create a new thread.
You can disable 'Auto horizon on planets' in 'Settings', on the page 'General'.

Incidentally, this thread is just right for your question. You should not make a new thread for each question. If you have a question, you should first search if there is already a thread in which your question fits.
That's one of the reasons why new forum members are blocked from making new threads for a number of posts.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Using SE 0.990.  When in Planetarium mode, when I get near a planet's surface, the camera will roll to make the horizon level.  Also, when cruising over a planet, the camera will pitch gently to keep the horizon at the same visual position.  I can see how these can be seen as nice new features not in 0.980, but I want to know how to turn these features off.  If I want to be level, I can press End (Horizon Object).  I don't like SE doing these things for me.
Settings → General → uncheck Auto horizon on planets

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

15 Sep 2019 14:55

So SE has been crashing on me after I have reached the main menu when I overclock my GPU but works completely fine when its on default settings. Funny thing is this has only happened recently. I have tried upgrading driver and downgrading driver but to no avail.

SE only crashes in the main menu but when I am in-game and turn the overclock on works completely fine but when I return to the main menu it crashes again and this happens only when the GPU is overclocked.

Anybody know whats going on ? its weird

Has anyone else noticed that life-bearing superoceanic worlds in the new classification system seem to generate with marine and terrestrial life? I don't know if that's intentional or not.

piko_bianko, the se.log you posted says you have an AMD/ATI Radeon RX 480 running SE 0.980, while the error message refers to NVIDIA drivers version 391.35, which of course are not compatible with an AMD graphic card. So, what is the graphic card where you are trying to run 0.990?
Please upload a copy of your latest se.log from your 0.990 steam version.

I can not find any problems in your se.log.
But I can give you some tips.
Delete the 'cache' folder in your SpaceEngine directory.
Update your graphics card driver. Yours is already a bit old.
If that does not help, you can also delete the 'main-user.cfg' and the 'save-user.cfg'. These files are in the 'config' directory.
Maybe that helps.
