Re: Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

When i start the game, i have 1 fps in menu screen, the game reacts really slow. Ingame i have 144fps till i move near an object, then fps drops back down to 1 till i move away. does someone know whats wrong? AMD Graficcard
I'm going to assume before asking for your se.log from the SpaceEngine \system folder, that you have AMD latest drivers installed. After 22.5.1 drivers, AMD rewrote the OpenGL part and SpaceEngine code now has issues. AMD is looking into this and will let SE devs know what to change to solve these issues, the sooner the better.
In the meantime, the only fix for SpaceEngine AMD users is to revert to 22.5.1 drivers.

Hello everybody! After the last update, the game began to work worse. The browser of the planets flicker and then they are not visible at all. After 5-6min, the game freezes and crashes. My laptop specifications: RTX 3050 TI. 16gb RAM. AMD Ryzen 7 6800H 3.20 GHz

I can't send the file se.log because the file is large (1.18MB)

You can use a free service like pastebin.com to paste the log then post here the link to the page. In the meantime, press numpad * to enter in debug mode, under General deselect "Asynchronous lighting", then press numpad * two times to return to normal mode and see if this solves the issue.
If it does, remember you'll have to deselect that feature again next time you run SE, until a fix will be found for that. It's not a common issue so investigation is required.

In short, it didn't work out, I follow your link and writes that the page was not found. BUT! I was able to copy all the information from the original se.log and created a new text document and copied it here.

Oh! Everything worked out! Now the planets in the browser of the star system have become visible! Thank you!

Странно... Только что отключил атмосферу и в браузере появились все планеты...

Hello, on SE 0.980 I could export the planisphere of a planet without problem. I installed 0.990 recently, and when I export the planisphere, SE always tells me "done", but I have nothing in my "export" folder or in my images. No file created. What to do ?

It could be a bug, but to be sure it should be replicable. Can you describe exactly which planet you are trying to export, and other parameters you choose to do so?

Trouble with some of the uniforms in Nebula-Raymarch.glsl for version 0990.45.1940

Hello!
I'm using a system with an 8gb RTX card, and Nividia has just recently rolled out two new driver updates. One in January, and another just earlier today. Since I've installed the new driver I've noticed that in the console Nebula-Raymarch.glsl won't link the fragment shader properly because of an error trunicating a two component float vector into a float. As a result, all nebula are invisible even when I've selected them and force re-loaded the object. There are no mods enabled that change the appearence of models enabled.

Here's the snippet from se.log:
[MT] Loading shader "data/shaders/Shaders.pak/nebula_raymarch.glsl" (defines: BSPH,UNIFORMS nebula_raymarch_uniforms)
[MT] ERROR: Compiling shader "data/shaders/Shaders.pak/nebula_raymarch.glsl":
0(461) : error C7623: implicit narrowing of type from "vec2" to "float"
[MT] ERROR: Linking shader "data/shaders/Shaders.pak/nebula_raymarch.glsl":
Fragment info
-------------
0(461) : error C7623: implicit narrowing of type from "vec2" to "float"
I'm not sure how exactly the shaders in se are structured, and how they receive/handle input -- but I imagine it must be a royal pain dealing with the constant changes on the Driver's end! Thank you for your time.

I haven't used Space Engine in a while because my computer specs could not longer perform on the latest versions. I want to start using Space Engine again, but my GPU is still too bad for the game. The game runs only if I disable procedurally generated planets (this includes surfaces of stars).

CPU: Intel Core i5-8250
RAM: 12 GB
OS: Windows 11

GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 (only 128 mb dedicated VRAM), 60 Hz refresh rate.

Is there any way I can improve this? Do I have to buy a new computer or graphics card, or am I able to improve VRAM by switching settings around or downloading things?

It is better to buy a new PC or laptop. If you want the game to work perfectly, then you will need a gtx1060 VRAM or better more. 16GB of RAM and processor with i5

How to make the dark side of the planet be just as bright as the bright side so that I can study what is on the other side of the planet, otherwise I can’t see anything.
