Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

11 Jun 2019 07:17

Post bugreports here. After collecting information, we will write a troubleshooting recommendation, or even fix bugs operatively and upload an update!

But before posting, try to update the graphics card driver - this was the most common source of problems in previous SE versions, so may apply to the current one.

Please post a bug report with a more or less detailed explanation, screenshot, and the log file. It is located at
<Your steam directory>\steamapps\common\SpaceEngine\system\se.log
Suggestions by users:
Maybe some info for others (and the team): a lot of people with high-end systems and/or more then enough RAM, have disabled the Page File within Windows. Turns out that (at least with NVidia drivers) that causes crashes and/or total system freeze with SE. Since I did enable Page File again (just let Windows manage it), no more crashes and freezes

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

11 Jun 2019 09:29

I posted in the Steam discussion thread about poor performance and an error spamming the console. Here is my log with texture compression enabled https://www.dropbox.com/s/7b0mtgd62qre3np/se.log?dl=0

Oddly enough, when I disabled texture compression, I wasn't seeing the memory errors in the console. However, it should be noted that I don't seem to see these errors until I fly to a new procedural body.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

11 Jun 2019 09:51

I get "Application load error 3:0000065432" upon trying to start. No log file because one is never created as SE never properly starts. I have tried starting both with and without all the HD Solar System textures DLCs installed, as well as checking file integrity, always getting the same error message and failing to start. I'm trying to start in normal (non-VR) mode.

I have GTX 1080 with up-to-date drivers, 16 GB of RAM, Intel Core i7 7700k CPU and Windows 10 64-bit.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

11 Jun 2019 10:34

When I try to start the program, it loads ok but then immediately crashes afterwards. I have tried updating my GPU, rebooting my PC, closed all other software applications when running it, and have ran two or three data fragmentation scans in case their wasn't enough space, but so far nothing works.I haven't been able to explore the program because of this. Any suggestions?

My PC has a AMD FX-6100 CPU with up-to-date drivers with 10 GB of RAM, and has 64 bit Windows 10.

You could try deactivating your antivirus program. There are apparently problems with a certain anti-virus program.

Post your se.log. It is in the 'system' directory of SpaceEngine.
You can use pastebin for that.

fallout2077, indeed it seems that those errors are caused by the texture compression feature. I see you have updated graphic drivers, I'll see if I can replicate the issue.

Vorpal Sword, as JackDole said, a user had the same issue yesterday, he solved it by disabling temporarily the antivirus, as it's one of the possible reasons for such error. Here ( https://appuals.com/fix-application-loa ... 000065432/ ) there are several possible reasons and solutions to that, the easiest to check it's the antivirus so I would try that first.

I can't start the new Version at all. When I try to start it via Steam, the program trys to boot up for about 2 seconds and then closes itself without an error message. I've already tried a restart of the PC.
If I try to start it without Steam i get the error code 0xc000007b

EDIT1: Updating the Graphic Cards Driver and the fix with the "dev controller renaming" that someone mentioned in the steam forum didn't work either.

Typbürste, open your Steam client, go to Steam > settings > downloads > clear download cache.

Right-click on SpaceEngine in your library > Properties > Local files tab > Verify integrity of game files...

Seems like a problem during the download.

Unfortunately that wasn't the solution. No errors were found.

EDIT: Reinstall of SE didn't work either, and now I must download 40GB of HD Textures again. :(

Same concerns as Typbürste, the application launches and stops immediately. Pilots to days. I tried a lot of techniques, none of them works.

Post your se.log. It is in the 'system' directory of SpaceEngine.
You can use pastebin for that.
Alright I'll see what I can do, thanks.
