It seems to be quite heavy... Nice addon though! I made one for Unity (I had to make the warp-engine effect), never published it, but yours is really amazing.

The nights are short and only bright stars are visible at night here now.  Still, some meteors can be seen.  I got this shot last night.

Great capture!  It's nice having the long days again, though I'm still not used to it being light so early.

Speak for yourself, I'm not a big fan of it being light so late.

I like both seasons, and mostly that there is a shift between them.  The long nights feel recuperative and are also good for astrophotography (if it manages to be clear).  The long days are great for extending a hike or climb or other summertime outdoor activity, when I would otherwise need to be thinking of heading back or setting up camp.

That's interesting, because for years I've felt the exact opposite. It vexes me to no end that the temperature and day length change so significantly over the course of the year, and that it happens so relatively quickly, so that by the time you get used to short days, it's already long again, etc. I wish Earth had a more modest axial tilt. (And orbited farther from the sun, and had a higher greenhouse effect, etc.)

I'm happy for the changing seasons.  I think that if the days were all the same, life would be duller.  Being used to highly variable seasons, living near the equator would make me miss the changes.

I've only spent one winter and summer in northern Norway, and while the midnight sun was a nice break from a long winter, I welcomed the beginning twilight in August, as no break from daylight in three months will begin to wear on you.  Winter eventually offers a long break. That it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home can be a bit annoying if I need to do something which requires good lighting, so sometimes things have to wait till the weekends.  Even in northern Norway there is twilight that might be enough, but not in Svalbard and things may have to wait a few months before it becomes practical to do it.

One thing that has always felt exotic to me is to be outdoors in the dark in shorts and t-shirt.  That's a combination usually not possible in Norway. :)

Taken today beneath the falls at Diablo Dam.  One of my (most unexpectedly) favorite photos.

I don't want the days to all be the same, I just want the changes to be more gradual and more moderate. 16° axial tilt instead of 23°. 20°C difference between seasons instead of >30°C. Seasons lasting 6 months instead of 3 months. That's what I long for.

I love that last photo.

20°C difference between seasons instead of >30°C
This means summer with a maximum of 20 degrees. Okay, I think one can get used to that. Better than the 32 degrees it had yesterday with us. What's more than 40 degrees difference to last winter.
(Northern Germany, near Bremen.)

20°C difference between seasons instead of >30°C
For that you can either move closer to the equator, or to a place mostly surrounded by the ocean.  Where I live the warmest month is about 15 °C and the coldest -5 °C, so we have that 20 °C variation.  Near you, Cape Cod should offer the same variation, but 5 degrees warmer.  Further south, Atlanta also has a 20 °C variation, but yet another 5 degrees warmer.  In tropical regions there is less than 5 °C seasonal variation many places.

Yeah, you can get what you want at a lower latitude and different climate zone -- perhaps a temperate oceanic or mediterranean climate.

Growing up in Virginia I dealt with hot and humid summers, cold winters, and more chaotic weather overall.  The climate on the west coast is much milder, and more of a change in seasonal precipitation pattern.  What surprised me is that the thing I miss most from the east coast is the severe thunderstorms and lightning.  Lightning is very rare here, though of course that's because it's not so humid in summer, and I don't miss humid heat one bit.  Instead our most extreme form of weather is the windstorms in late autumn.

There was a time when I considered relocating to Hawaii for study, though I think after a while the constancy would have been boring like Midtskogen said.  Actually I get very annoyed when there are too many perfect beautiful sunny days in a row. :P

On Hawaii you would of course work at some observatory at the Mauna Kea summit periodically, and that way get the 25C seasonal variation...

I'll have a couple of days off in California at the very end of June, and I'm considering driving from SF to Death Valley and back (as if the trip to Madras wasn't enough). That would give me a variation of about 75 degrees this year.

Well I also don't want high temperatures or high humidity/lots of clouds. There is literally no place on Earth that I would be content with.

Edit: I actually would be content with a 30°C temperature swing between summer and winter, but only if that swing was specifically between -8°C and 22°C. Also I think this has become quite off-topic. Someone should split this off into another thread.
