I've ditched ReShade because I've never been able to keep the game stable with it (when also hotsampling). It's nice to see the universe as it's intended for a change. I'm still using SRWE to hotsample, and despite some hiccups it's coping okay.

Any banding is from browser/flickr compression; the full resolution pngs (available at flickr, click on the pictures) have no banding.

This is the coolest thing I've seen so far.

This is RS 1228-2706-0-0-114 B1, in orbit around a white dwarf, which is part of a binary star system with a red hypergiant.

I've not seen a white dwarf before, and I've not seen a planet illuminated by two different stars that looked quite so striking either. It's beautiful. (No ReShade; 0.9.8.0)

I, too, have a soft spot for planets illuminated by different colored stars. :)  These are very nice shots and the ringed gas giant is simply stunning.

Thank you :)

I'm still lost in this binary system. I've spent enough time in Space Engine to know that scale is incomprehensible, but having just spent time looking at the white dwarf and her planets, when I turned the camera around and the red hypergiant filled my screen I won't deny I said, "well sh*t!"

Here it is from the second planet that orbits the white dwarf (which can be seen with its disc over to the left, along with the first planet from the post above and its tail). From here the white dwarf is 0.20 AU away, and the red hypergiant is 85.05 AU away. Space is big.

Not sure if this is a coincidence, an illusion, wishful thinking or if it actually is part of the algorithms and calculations used in Space Engine, but....
Here is a planet with different types of vegetation on different sides of the planet based on which side gets more sunlight from each of the different host stars. Not sure how the orbits would allow such a thing to begin with (It might be tidally locked - I'm not sure), but something is going on to create this appearance. I like the hazy belt of darkness around the middle. Is that CO2 or O3?

That second image is pretty trippy.  What's going on in the last one?
