I have started a wiki in which I record discovered planets and invent backstories for them just for the fun of it. If you want to join and add articles abour your own planets you are welcome :D I also made an infobox template that makes it easy to display general information about Space Engine Planets.

If you are unfamiliar with Wikia, no problem, I am a bloody beginner myself. If you are a pro at writing wiki articles, even better!

Here is the link of the Wiki:

I wanted to see if I could reproduce one the cool images presented by Doctor of Space of the dark cloud vista
I don't think that was me

superpartes, please at least keep this wiki to the facts or, like with Earth, a silly reference.  Far too many of these SpaceEngine wikis devolve into ridiculous fanfiction when it comes to humanity.  I don't really see an issue making up stories for your own planets but some of these wikis are just :?

I didn't know it was a widespread thing to make such wikis ;) Could you give me a link of one you regard as particularly bad so I have en example of what I shouldn't aspire to? The main thing about this wiki is giving the RS code, the version number and a picture about the planet so people can decide whether they want to visit. The wiki contains also tables with basic data about the planets, which hasn't much to do with fanfiction.
Regarding the stories, I try to at least conform to the basic features of the planets like temperature/pressure/gravity/atmosphere composition/shape of continents/ocean-landmass ratio when I invent them. I will write an article about Earth and humanity but it will be firmly anchored in 2017 without any invented elements. I think our age and the history of our planet is interesting enough, no additional futuristic elements needed.
Of course it might seem silly for some to write stories like these but fantasizing about what happens on the celestial bodies I visit has been an integral part of my game experience. Of course if you and others want to contribute you are in no way forced to do the same. if you are minimalist just add a picture of the planet and the table, that's more than enough.

Mainly this wiki, there is another SpaceEngine wiki out there but I haven't checked it in a while.

After reading the article in question and some others I clearly see what you meant when you criticized them. They have made the whole solar system into a collection of terraformed planets visually identical to earth - how boring. I prefer our neighboring planets in the form they have now. Also the articles are a bit unimaginative and poorly written, I will try to avoid that. Of course since I am not a native speaker some errors will seep in here and there but it is to be hoped that other contributors will help me.

I think you were referring to my images unless DoS did some similar ones. Anyhow, imitation is flattery but in this case I think yours is a better image than mine.
Is this the one?
