We sure do some arcane things as children. I mostly did that sort of thing to impress my parents, but memorizing square roots and such is always useful later in life.
Yes, and also learn some tricks that allow you to do square roots and such in your head so you dont need to be glued to a device all the time (perish the thought lol!)
I mostly did stuff like calculate what the minimum visible magnitude should be for various aperture binoculars and telescopes and also things like the difference in luminosity between two objects of different magnitudes.  So it was practical and learning to do it in your head saves you having to carry electronics outside which could ruin your eyes' adaptation to the dark.

No Man's Sky is officially getting VR support in the next major free update. I'm very excited, because I've long suspected NMS has always been best suited as a VR experience and not as a desktop game. The sense of scale VR creates may allow the immersion NMS has been desperately trying to achieve since it's first release.
I like cute pokemon and space games.

Stellarator, ObsidianAnt is a regular on Discord, I gave him his beta key and I think he has a commercial license now.  He's a quality dude and makes excellent videos.

Absolutely. His gaming videos are among the best on YT. Hell, he should even narrate an official tutorial/introduction video for SE - since his voice is very concise and soothing (I mean, in addition to the ones he's already done :)).

Wow thats a great video. He nails all the main key features of SE and what makes it unique pretty well.

As a test of memory during my teenage years I learned pi to 100 digits, but since then it has fallen down to 50.  Maybe the amount of pi I retain decreases in proportion to my remaining life expectancy?

Maybe you're not revising it enough? Evidence memory gets worse when you get older?

My memory was definitely worse when I was young. I used to forget everything and couldn't remember any more than 2-3 letters or numbers in a sting so I couldn't spell words until I was much older.

Now I would rank myself as average, probably above average when it comes to mechanical things. I think I had a severe learning problem as a child that I overcame at around early 20s  Its been pretty decent since.

Why? The PDF article is dated for April 1st.

(And in Europe and Asia, it was already April 1st, when Gnargenox posted it.)
