How much more work do you think is left to do until 0.9.9.0?
That depends on SpaceEngineer's plan, the more he plans, the later the 0.9.9.0 will be released.
As what we said:"Space Engine 0.9.9.0 has no exact release date".That's the main point. :(
I'm always ready to see news, regardless what is it.

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0

I had the idea of possibly having support for the newNvidia Volta graphics cards, which support realtime raytracing.

But the cards won’t be released until this fall, so if the update gets released before that, it might have to wait for another update.

Perhaps the vendors could provide sdk for their upcoming products?  AMD are supposedly bringing about some new consumer cards later in the year based on 7nm process, possibly early next year if it gets delayed. They have already been sampling for a while.

nvidia, as always, no news.

But it would be much easier to wait for the products to be available.

This would have limited usefulness in SE at present, and anyway RTX is only going to be usable with DirectX and Vulkan. SE uses OpenGL.

And besides, I realized that ray tracing would be unnecessary in software like this. You can get a really realistic look without it.

What's the status of SE regarding VR support?

I'm a Vive owner and don't do anything flight oriented outside of VR these days...

I’m pretty good with Photoshop. I’d be willing to do some promo images for the 0.9.9.0 release.
Although I’d need some raw images from the update.
I’m not asking for a copy of the new version. I’d just ask for specific images.

How do you become a beta tester?
The Beta has enough testers.
Actually. How do you become ANY of those? (Moderators, Beta Testers, SE Team.)

Occasionally Space Engineer puts out a thread asking for more beta testers, but I think the roster is pretty full now.

Moderators are directly contacted by staff, as far as I know.
SE Team is a group of people actively involved in program development (coding, etc) since quite some time.
