Work progress 0.9.9.0

0.990 will it be downloadable only via steam or will the download from the site remain?
This is amazing, my hype just reexploded. One question though, will the non-steam version you can get directly from the site be delayed until the steam version is reviewed, approved, and released or is there a chance we'll get the site version sooner?
No site versions anymore. SE will be Steam-only. Maybe in future I will expand it to other sale platforms, particularly, Oculus.
Im also curious if the Downloads for the Solar System HD/Ultra will be updated for the main site too or just for Steam?
0.980 and older versions will remain downloadable from the site, the SS addons also. I will update them as well. 0.980 will also benefit from standardized texture resolution.
You said that you will implement steam workshop support.
How will this affect us worldbuilders and custom system makers? Will SpaceEngine be given a more user friendly method of importing custom wiki articles? The custom wiki is what I have the most worries with. Will we be able to upload our custom wikis to the workshop at all?
Wiki system should be re-designed for that. Maybe making it as online database is even better.

Being Steam only how this will affect addons? I mean now I can install SE 0980 in any folder of my choice, then set permissions on that folder (cause Win10 you know..) and modify the addons subfolder without win10 asking me that I need permissions to make any modifications inside SE subfolder every time I make a modification / install addons. I am not sure I can do the same inside steam subfolders without breaking steam app and possibly other steam games. Or maybe I can but I would prefer more installation freedom - maybe it is possible to install in any folder even via steam - any advice / opinion is appreciated.

I installed mods for Steam version of CiV5, some of the mods are off-workshop, because they edit library files (NQ mod, Vox Populi, which are the most popular mods), so I assume there should be no issues with that.

So far I have no problems with addons. Here is a list of my addon directories. From my 'se.log' file.

Does this mean there will be no free version of Space Engine 0.9.9? If so how much is it going to be? I've been looking forward for some time but atm I'm on a very tight budget.

I just had to move another huge batch of posts for being off topic, mostly arguments about SE being on Steam (which was mainly the same two people posting the same things over and over again, which is unproductive and confusing).

It is very good to know that space engine will now be in steam and I understand that it will be paid, I have years using it and for me it is by far the best planetary simulator, I only have one question, will it be possible to buy it from steam when it is released?

The immensely popular Universe Sandbox you need to pay for, but that hasn't stopped a lot of folks who share similar views to yours from playing it.

Good news for the update, but actually, I use SE in a little planetarium under wine/Linux, Steam dont be usefull for us.
We would be create some videos with 0.990, but not in live like now...
You could be kill some planetarium software with your todo list !!!
