Work progress - 0.9.8.1

05 Oct 2017 16:23

Looks like it's time to clean this thread again. If a post of yours goes missing from this thread, don't ask where it went, because I deleted it for ignoring the warning in the OP.

UPDATE: I just deleted ~90 posts from this thread. Keep your posts on-topic from now on. The note in the opening post explains what that means. Anyone who repeatedly makes off topic posts here may be temporarily banned from the forum.

Work progress - 0.9.9.0

10 Oct 2017 12:49

I'm confused. This thread's title changed to 0.9.9.0, so I thought 0.9.8.1 had been released. However, the site's download page offers only 0.9.8.0, and the first post of this thread shows the changelog for 0.9.8.1 and not 0.9.9.0.

So, what is the current downloadable version? Does it offer VR support for Oculus?

No, only surface liquids are handled for now.

in news blog i found this:
"Similar calculation of the bottom composition is used on frozen aquarias for their subglacial oceans, although they are not modeled directly."

This means that SE already calculates the parameters of frozen aquarias but they still don't affect planet rendering or info about composition?

The new system introduces a separate file for each preset, where, in addition to the actual coloring, the user can specify paths to the textures, the rules for their assignment, scale and other parameters. Textures are now stored as separate files rather than in a single atlas – this simplifies modding (users can easily add new textures). The engine now uses a texture array internally instead of the atlas, which also eliminates some of disadvantages of the atlas (seams on the tile boundaries).

wooooooooooowwwwwwww :-D

Every time I think I can't possibly be more excited for 0.9.9 you find a way to prove me wrong. What manner of wizard are you?
