Very nice update,it opens up new possibilities.

Just, they may or may also have tags like atmosphere and clouds ? Would be handy for bases (like the Europa base by JackDole) or ships like O'Neil or see halo stations.

The method would be to create a parameter specifying which materials have an atmosphere (idem for water, clouds, ...) as well as an offset to turn it if it is in the wrong direction. By default, is auto-adjust but if you specific a shader like "Sphere", it is the method/shader actual for atmosphere,... or specific the path of the shader.

Also for object, structure,..., we can set a size (radius, length) and a mass in the planet script or we need to make a model for each size (object.cfg) and mass (object.sss) ?
The first option will be convenient.

Updated locations menu, once again...
scr00632.jpg
Locations are now saves the photo mode and exposure compensation value, and applies them after loading. Otherwise user will see not the same picture on the screen as in the location preview.

Well this is a feast for the eye, and well thought too as expected.
I wonder what happens when a location doesn't exist anymore or it's changed, as it happens between beta releases... It should be a no-problem with stable releases I guess, but you never know.

Funny to read references to doughnut-shaped planet the day of the release of this article (a bit far-fecthed)

So I'm making a few 3d models of plants/grass/trees (as an addon pack when this version releases) so that it can be put on the planet using the new feature which Vladimir mentioned earlier in this thread. Are there an limit on number of polygons per model/total number of models which can be put in a planet in space engine 0.9.8.1? thanks

Finally! Thanks, Vladimir!
