Yes he and the whole team have done a magnificent job!  One other suggestion I thought of, what reminded me was the new gridding system on planets which will be very nice for navigation- can we also have compass points on planet surfaces?  So for example when we go in a certain direction we know we will be going NW (for example).  This is also useful as a way to use the program as a planetarium as you would know immediately what direction you were facing when viewing a particular constellation.  The program will have its own built-in GPS!

I really like the exoplanet.eu archive it looks very up to date.  How many real exoplanets are in the new version of the program as of right now?

I think one day, those jets will be volumetric too, just like those nebulas. :)
I'm always ready to see news, regardless what is it.

Are said jets just for black holes or will there be some for neutron stars and maybe white dwarfs?

It is a 1.5 years old, 3566 confirmed planets, 1804 candidates and few dozen of manually tweaked ones.

They are volumetric, like comet tails.

For all stellar remnants, of course.

That excites me alot. On the center of planetary nebula and supernova, will there be white dwarfs and neutron stars in the center?
To a Galaxy billion light-years away from a Dark World.

@Vladimir, just curious if a distance measure feature will be added in this version? Like, point and click to know the distance to the mountain you're looking at or to see how deep a canyon is, to kinda get a perspective of distance and scale in numbers. You probably remember me asking before about this? :)

OMG the day is coming... After waiting for 2 years clicking the news section of the website EVERYDAY this is about to happen! But now i have some question (i am not a forum user so i am not iformed in this type of information), will this version be avaliable in the website or in the steam? And if the response is Steam, will it still be free?
Just a space enthusiastic. I plan to study astrophysics in the future.

The game is going to come out on Steam and, while not being free, won't have an outrageous price. Older versions of space engine will still be available to download on the website.
Can I have an order of uhhh randomly generated city lights?

Fair enough, Only one developer, he needs money to make this work. Just a little worriedabout how much it will cost when converted to BRL :( but i am cool about buying anything bellow BRL 50,00 (USD 12,00) :P

That's great Vladimir!  I think when you do regular updates of exoplanets it would also be a good idea to just release patches (similar to the e patch we had after the eclipse) where the only change is that the exoplanet list is brought up to date.
Also, what do you think of the idea of having compass points (N,S,E,W) on exoplanet surfaces for navigational purposes to complement the new grid?  It would also help on Earth if one is using the program as a planetarium to see which direction to look in order to see a certain constellation.

oh a GPS feature would be cool with lat/long/elevation and direction you are looking in listed, it would complement the new grid feature well.

Since space engine is going to be on steam, updates to it are going to be much, much easier. Have you ever used steam for games? They have an option so you can have updates automatically downloaded and installed when they come out, so you don't even have to bat an eye at updating games.

There is no release date.
I like cute pokemon and space games.
