Of course!
Pseudo-random.
No. Otherwhise it would be mentioned in the blog already.
SE uses stock OpenGL, no special hardware optimizations.
The new nvidia gpus support ray tracing though they seem to have a few issues.I know, I'm just saying that if we had shown people 25 years ago what modern engines can do now, they might have believed that raytracing was involved, since it looks so amazing.
ADDED: But actually, I do wonder if game engines of the future will actually switch to raytracing.
Release is expected this year on Steam. I can't give the exact date, because developing the app is not like building a road. Then you build a road, you may measure your average speed, say 1 mile per day, then divide the remaining distance onto this speed and obtain number of days left. Developing app is not a linear process, so no extrapolation can be used. I don't know how much time it will take for, say, implementing procedural generation of raymarched nebulae, which new problems will arise, and how much time it will take to solve them.
The new update won't be released on the website if I am correct. This has been said by the developer himself.I know it is being released on Steam but will it be released on the website at the same time? I like downloading things from here.
Wow this is a super advanced new version you have created I am very excited for this!
Two suggestions for a later release, if I may, is there any way to include an H-R chart of all stars in a field of view, so if I want to find a star of a particular type or luminosity, I can just click on its representative pixel dot in the H-R chart and it will be highlighted in the FOV or vice versa? That would be the easiest way to find the most luminous stars in an FOV or stars with unusual characteristics (white dwarfs, neutron stars, etc.)
The other suggestion was that I see you are including a separate area for real exoplanets, which is great. Will the program include all 3,840 exoplanets discovered as of November 1? And is there any way to do regular monthly updates of exoplanets which will run on program start up and automatically update with new exoplanets that have been discovered and assign them a type, terrain and size automatically based on the data we have on them?
Thanks for all your tireless work! PS I have the same 1060 6 GB graphics card but am still limited to 1080P resolutions.
While the new update will be on steam (which you can use offline by the way, just letting you know) you will be able to download all previous updates here if I am not mistaken.I use Space Engine in field where no Internet connection is possible.
If i have to run Steam online, to use SE it is useless for me.
I hope i can download SE 09.09.09 like the Edition 0.9.8 from your Website.
Thanks for your work on this beautifull Space Simulation
