The moon's shadow does not go to the place where it should be. I think the orbit is not that precise. That's why the solar eclipses are not available.
SpaceEngine 0980E patch has been available since just before the eclipse, from the download page. It adds proper orbital motion for many Solar System bodies.

Hello,

I would really like to have orbit and rendezvous planning implemented in the game. I play a lot with ships and since docking is a thing now, planning an orbit efficiently would be very nice, a little like KSP (Kerbal Space Program) does it.

with some modification the quadtree generation could be modified to just randomly generate brush strokes, and to form fit to your planetary terrain generation technique.

also the planet editing potential is through the roof.

I think it would be lovely if a function could be created that displays a "cutaway" view of a selected planet or moon. Such a function could indicate basic layered elements/structures such as Iron, rock, liquid water, ice, gas etc....

I have a suggestion:
In the star browser give us the option to choose which planets we don't want to show up but still have more than 1 option on what planets we do want to find. Also maybe an option to choose what gasses we want in the atmosphere, and which ones we don't want that much of.

That would be very useful. I want to see a configurable object limit as well, I would love to go beyond the 10k limit.

For god's sake, please code into the game the ability to create your own stars, planets and moons into the game. In short, to create your own stars systems from scratch. It could have been easily done from the beginning.

For god's sake, please code into the game the ability to create your own stars, planets and moons into the game. In short, to create your own stars systems from scratch. It could have been easily done from the beginning.
Maybe you should take a look at the manual.
Especially the section Making Addons.
It describes how to create stars, planets, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies.
Oh, how spaceships are made is also explained.

(Some simple descriptions can be found here: A very simple tutorial on how to create a solar system  and here: How to make a simple binary solar system.)

1.- There are no orders, exigency and demands theads in the forum. Just suggestions and ideas please. This is programed by one man that works voluntarily and for free.

2.- This is not the correct suggestions thread either. Maybe you would like to post that in the thread created for suggestions about Space Engine itself and not the forum or web related to it. By the way you posted also there so I can't understand why you did this.

3.- Stars, planets, moons (with costumized textures also), galaxies, clusters and nebulae can all be created by the user since a bunch of years now. You should have posted this as a question at least. Take a look at thecurated manuals to do so or at the tenths of mods done by forum members using them in this comprehensive list.

4.- Also as a new member please take your time to read the forum rules. In particular:

None of it (which I looked into several times previously) did me much of any good. It all seems to arcane and convoluted to me, and quite frankly, "elitist". For one thing, I can't even get the planet code into my files, assuming, of course, I did the files thing correctly and this Notpad thing, I don't know where that comes in at all. You have to understand something about people like me - We are not, I repeat NOT, tech savvy. Any procedure beyond a certain complexity and you'll just get a blank classy eyed stare, because it's likely I just will not be able to comprehend what you are trying to write. And while I could use the games editors well enough while playing the game, the fiddling with files and codes is just too daunting and complicated unless, someone could actually painstakingly "walk me" through it.

I can't even get the planet code into my files, assuming, of course, I did the files thing correctly and this Notpad thing,
Do your scripts have the correct file extension? It must be .sc !
Windows sometimes invisibly attaches .txt to the file!
You have to set your Explorer to show file extensions.
My explorer is in German, but I've added what's probably written in your Explorer when it's English.

I get this when I try to get the file into the folder.... Assuming of course that I'm doing this right....

A little window pops up and says "The destination folder is a sub-folder of the source folder." 

Also on the top left side of the small window it says in small print "One interrupted action".

I had two choices, neither are any good -  "skip" or "cancel". So it seems I'm back to square one....

I do not know what else to do.

So honestly, do you see my point now? All the good info in the world will do nothing if "contingencies" aren't known, let along dealt with, beforehand, or, if the individual simply lacks the skills needed to create their own content in the game as it is now. The game designer obviously made the game for high end computer users, those that know about codes and similar in depth knowledge - not for people like myself, who are on the low end of the user scale. At this point, I can only hope that a fully developed and integrated user friendly "star system builder" is available for 0.9.0.9.  Otherwise without my own ability to create in game content, I know with absolute certainty that I will get bored quickly, delete the game, wandering off never to return.
