Ionized hydrogen captured by H-alpha filters is not part of visible spectrum, It would be a very nice addition, but I don't think it will be implemented anytime soon.

I would like to have a parameter for scripts that can be used to generate night side lights procedurally.

For example:
     NoNightsidelights false

But, that's why you have donations. You can use them to hire some artist.
No, I can't, sadly. Donation rate is just $600-800 per month. This is enough only for food and living.

Well, that's better than situation here. Okay. If you need any kind of art, I can do it for free. I am good with creating wallpapers and drawings (check my moon on the 'show of your work' thread). If you need some help with models or similar things, I am not that great with that, but I would like to contribute. Even if I have little knowledge.
I can't donate, but there are people that can. And i hope your donations are going to grow every month.

Say, how would it be difficult to make certain ships spawn with other ships already docked?
(e.g. a capital ship popping out with a wing of docked fighters included)

Heat shimmer on the horizon (where appropriate, of course).

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Hi everyone. I'm returning to Space Engine and the forum after a long time away. Have to say that I'm excited about where things are going. Not sure if this is the right thread, but I had a random thought... Would it be possible to adapt whatever method is used for comet tails or evaporating planets to produce reentry plasma for spacecraft? I would guess it's either a shader or a particle effect, and it's already in the code somewhere.

My idea subdwarfs(any spectral) and cool subgiants(red and orange) need to be procedurally generated I know hotter procedural subgiants(yellow, blue and white) is already in SE

It will not take into account the depth of the object (ship model), and the most important issue - it will not interact correctly with the atmospheric scattering.

That makes sense. I can see why you'd rather have a visually accurate method before implementing the effect. Still, there's nothing quite like trailing a stream of fire behind your ship on the way into an atmosphere. Given your attention to detail, I would guess you're planning to add reentry plasma and other effects eventually?

I had an idea (which has probably been discussed before, for which I apologize) regarding to spaceship orbital mechanics.
Many of you might already know about the game Kerbal Space Program. My question is, would it be feasible to add "maneuvers" to plan a route, like those found in the above mentioned game?

Something like this will probably be added eventually.

Marko, what about drawing textures? I made many models for modular ship or stations and ground structure in my mods, but I'm not good with texture, so it would be interesting if we can work together...

Well, I can try to create some since I am good at it. But it depends on what kind of texture and program I am working on. But, send me some details and I will see what can I do with my spare time. I am not guaranteeing that it will be good!
