General suggestions for SpaceEngine

One or two smol suggestions:
1- For UI ergonomics, Right-click (inspired by 3DS Max) could reset a slider to its default value (example: the visual style slider for Bloom is, by default, at 0.5. If i move it to 1.0 and right click it, it then returns to 0.5 ... Not sure the example was needed but whatever...)
2- For visual quality, you could add some sort of cloud shadow, by adding a second cloud texture projected onto the ground, and black... This is a basic workaround, but looking at Google Earth, this is the main difference with SE that adds to the realism...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Here you can post your suggestions.
I enjoy to make cross eye stereographic flights, but needs to make adjustments of the stereobase fluently, could you make it possible to custom allocate keys or buts on the joystick to adjust the stereobase to what there is in focus, close to planet surface or interplanetary, galactic, inter galactic or the whole universe while flying, without any menus popping up.
Making it automatically would mean, that the simulator should read your mind, or track your eye movements and it becomes insurmountably complicated with more people viewing at a time;-).
Maybe the simulator just recognize, whats in the front in your viewing field, but maybe you just want a foreground and focusing at something in the background ;-).
And if it could be made to a smoothly movement of the stereobase and possibly faster, if the key/but is kept down for longer time, so the base can be moved from close by, to infinity quickly.
Would be extremely happy if it is possible fore you to implement it, in next version.
This universe simulator I have been longing for since the computer became an opportunity fore everybody and you made it become a  reality, congratulation. A huge and great job.
It makes WroldWide Telescope from Microsoft to look--- well, you know:-).

If Space Engine will eventually be able to depict "deep time" cosmic events, such as the rotation of galaxies and the expansion of the universe, at least two things will need to be done first: the center of the entire universe's coordinate system will have to change from the Sun to Sgr A* (so that the Sun can orbit around it), and the maximum time speed should be increased from 1012 to 1015. At a factor of 1012, it'll take 8 hours and 46 minutes to traverse 1 billion years, but at 1015, 1 billion years can be covered in 32 seconds real time.

Simulation of mega fauna would be nice.

Issue is how do you ensure enough contextual variation for it taking into account temperature, gravity and whatnot?  How would jovian floaters be affected by such things?

I have one interesting suggestion about the main menu. It would be great if there is a option to the SE Universe Gallery. So that people can see all of the pictures that we have taken so far. :) Would be nice to have that. And maybe a upload button for the new ones!

That's really a good idea! It looks just like Steam Community's screenshot mechanism.

Yeah! We could see what planets we have discovered so far. I also meant that some of the pictures from the forum should be there. Like, some official pictures that are always there, and the community ones.

I would love that! It would show the creativity and talent and how much there is in space engine to practically everybody who lunches it. :)
I don't really come on here anymore, I used to! a lot. but now Its kind of just for news and stuff. I don't talk anymore :/

Thanks! Just hope that SpaceEngineer will implement that in the final version.

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

I had an idea earlier that I forgot to post about.

Would it be possible to use colorUpPlants to create a fake "snow" effect on chillier deserts and terras? I think it could spare explorers from finding all of a terra's land to be completely covered in detailless ice, whereas instead they could find large areas of either rocks or plants (depending on the world's life levels) having a pseudo-"covered with snow" appearance.

As an example, in one of my custom planets, I used a colorUpPlants (0.988, 0.989, 0.989, 0.125), so it looks like this:

Maybe they could show up on terras/deserts with average temperatures 40 F or below? colorLowPlants would be left alone and still use the normal default colors used for rocks/plants. :)
