I feel like warped and torus accretion disks would be great.
When volumetrics are added this should be possible

Also is active stellar evolution a possibility in the near future?
Depends on what you mean with "near future". If you mean "next year" or "next release", well... probably no.
But I seriously hope it will be implemented one day because (together with stellar movements) it would make the whole universe alive.  8-)

I don't really see why it would take so long to implement. Perhaps priorities?

It does, because he needs tons of formulae (because it has to be realistic), it needs to be compatible with the SE code (the star should disappear when it's life is over, but if you go back in time the star should appear again), to be implemented there needs to be supernovae and animated nebulae (also the animation of the explosion should go backwards if you go back in time, it's not very simple) and finally he would need to implement star formation and proto-planetary disk (if you don't want the star to appear from nothing).
These are a lot of pre-requisites that the engine doesn't have yet :)

Yeah, the problem of representing stellar evolution is hard.  It's not just the star itself, but also the entire planetary system, because the change in the star's size and brightness and mass will greatly influence the characteristics of the planets and their orbits.  It's probably "doable", but not easily or quickly.

Can you add an option in the procedural system generation, in the same way with the hot Gas Giants,to fix the frequency of the hot Ice Giants?  With the hot gas giant value low, the hot ice giants it seems they weren't affected, they are still there
Why do you think is is wrong? Do you have a real hot ice giants statistics from grey aliens?
But here in this example it "easy" but in harder like I recreate Azeroth (World of Warcraft), I have multiple folder and map it is in blp (I can convert in png) but map file it is in mapC_L (C : Column number, L : Line number) (example : map23_37). I no programmer So maybe it's impossible what I'm going to propose.
I really don't understand what do you want. If you want to make a planet map, you must convert it to a proper timed cubemap. Don't expect what SE will do this for you. SE is a renderer, it uses data files optimized for that task. Are you asking to integrate some custom map projection support directly into SE? But the optimal way is making an external tool to do that, and use SE with native SE texture format.

I think for rogue planets there should be an option called 'Flashlight' that is a button on the sidebar and bars on the bottom that when pressed, it would illuminate an entire rogue planet / moon  like it would if it had a sun, but all the way around.
Just a random user on the internet, nothing to see here.

Starlight Glimmer, you can already do this by increasing your Ambient light

I was reading the help with mods thread,

http://forum.spaceengine.org/viewtopic. ... 6&start=15

and remembered one of my own planets with oversize radii, but I couldn't maintain 1g at the surface because of the 10 mass limit without shrinking the radius. I think it might be nice to add a console cheat or a checkbox to tick to allow unrealistic sizes for custom catalog non-gas planets that could override the 10 mass limit. :)

Perhaps add a feature for the distance between binary (or more) objects? It's hard to figure out how distant they are from each other currently.

Maybe add a function to search by atmosphere composition?

Maybe add a function to search by atmosphere composition?
How? like, search for a percentage of CO2, CO, O2, N2, H2, He, SO2, CH4 and so on, search for the partial pressure of the gas, or search for objects that have the gas in their atmospheres?
Perhaps add a feature for the distance between binary (or more) objects? It's hard to figure out how distant they are from each other currently.
Semi-Major Axis is how far an object is from what it orbits, and the objects in a binary system both orbits their barycenter, so add the two together in the case of stars. I dont think it works that way for binary planets though.

Also, a nice idea would be planet subtypes, for example there could be "Martian" or "Venusian" deserts or something like that. However, you should still be able to search "desert" planets as well as subtypes like "martian desert".

I think jasperhb is asking for the actual distance between objects, which is varying in time based on orbital positions. That value is currently known and displayed for camera. So if you want to know the distance between Sirius A and B, or a planet from its moon, you have to go there and select the other object.

You should be able to search by a percentage of a element or have a range of percentages (like '40-60') allowed in the search. At least that should be implemented, and partial pressure search would come later. The first version to have the search-by-atmo feature would probably just have the 'presence of gas' thing. The 'ppm' probably would also come later, because of it being very small.

Should you be able to search for multiple gas percentages (15-40 % N2, 20-60 % CH4)?
