In particular, I look forward to descriptions of the eclipse. I guess no picture nor video can ever describe the true beauty of a total eclipse.

Made it to Madras and have set up camp. Unless the moon changes its orbit or explodes, there's no missing it now!

Good luck! defiantly don't want anything bad or unexpected to happen! worst case of scenario the moon becomes the earth and the earth becomes the moon. :?.

It will still be crazy to see, you will still see the dark looming shadow, even on the clouds.

As for me ill have to settle for the 75% coverage,

hey you guys, post some pictures of the complete coverage !!

Same, I am also getting only a 70% coverage. I'm HOPING it will still be good to watch but seeing a 100% coverage must be one of the best experiences ever!

Hey question, I didn't get any eclipse glasses (sorry they just seem too dorky and odd to me) but I have solar filters, I can use them instead right? I have a 101mm and a 70mm solar filter I use with my telescopes and cameras.

you mean without camera or telescope? I think is a bit dangerous if so, and uncomfortable. Materials could be different. Then I would take into account that dirty filters are a pain to clean and easily scratched.

Meanwhile, in SpaceEngine...
