"We need a way to inform aliens visiting our planet in the future of our existence."

"How about we carve great chunks out of our planet's surface?"

"Great idea! After we finish we can have a snack at the moon!"
Seems legit! :)

LightShader, what does it look like to you? An eye? Also, what is the name of the galaxy?
But good picture ;)

Xoran, many galaxies have this same texture, but the one they are all based off of is the Black Eye Galaxy

Gnargenox, nice ones, although i don't know the corporate logo either ;) IMO the clown one is the best, the corporate logo isn't very special, as there are a lot of corporate logos that don't look like each other, and not a lot of ways that clowns don't look like each other :)

Do you remember the names of the objects, and if so, can you please tell? :) The clown one looks awesome, looks very much like a titan without real planet brightness in liquid color and brightness. ;)

Thanks Xoran, the muddy clown face Titan is RSC 2442-8-3-448-46 B7. I didn't modify any display settings, that's its real color.
What is also pretty cool I think is its in a pair of interacting, colliding Galaxies that would make nice background shots on other planets.

Thanks, it's an eye, very creepy one at that. The galaxy itself was cool though, some spectacular views. Name is RG 0-7-40050-309

@HornBlower Is that how they're supposed to look? I may remember coming across them in previous versions.

LightShader, yep, they are in fact supposed to look like that. This is a picture of the real-world galaxy the texture was made for: Image
It works best when viewed from a shallow angle

It has an incredible depth feeling, I can't wait to see 3D galaxies like that in SE! It's not going to happen in the near future by the way.

Awesome, I'll have to try the shallow angle. See how many of these I can find.

@Salvo Same, Space Engine already looks great, but can't wait to see what it looks a couple years from now, by then we could have atmospheric clouds and waves that crash against shores. Going to have some amazing views.
