Yeah I read it before and now again and still can't seem to find the forum thing about how to post a new thread
 • - Before posting, please read the FAQ
 • - Post about bugs or problems in the troubleshooting and bug reports thread
 • - Post suggestions for the program in the suggestions thread
 • - Ask questions in the questions thread
 • - Use the search function and browse the sticky threads before creating a new thread; if a thread already exists on your topic, post in that thread instead of creating a new one.
 • - New users cannot create their own threads until they wrote 10 messages in existing threads.

I've been a member in the past. It's just been years since I've been on this forum and probably only posted all of 5 times anyways.

Actually came back to here due to the new release of .990 which is great, but there is one thing that I can't seem to figure out. Whatever happened to the auto exposure setting? Can't seem to find the setting.

hi,
     I'm Charlie.
I am looking forward to checking out Space Engine.
I do not see how to start a new thread.
so, until I find out how to do that, I will ask here.
does anyone know how the new Space Engine (or old versions), work with
a Virtual Reality headset?
perhaps Oculus Quest?
thank you for any thoughts,
Charlie

Unfortunately that means cluttering up a forum just to make 10 posts in order to ask for help or questions on the game...

That would be something the moderators do not like here. And if it's too obvious, the posts will be deleted by moderators and the user will be warned!

for a simple example, can I view the entire surface of the Earth?

Question:

It seems from viewing others posts, including mine.  That we can't seem to use the Quotation commands at all and they end up just showing up as
in here.

Same seems to be true for bold and italic.  Seems fine when I'm editing, but when I post it, it just shows the code rather than the result.

Didn't know where else to ask this...

The same limitation of 10 posts for newly registered users was applied to use of BBCodes in published posts, mainly to avoid spambots hijacking forums. We know, it's ugly.

Hello everybody, I just picked up Space Engine on Steam last week and I have been having some problems with the program and posting on the Steam forums. I figured I would sign up here and become part of the community and hopefully get some expertise on the issues im having.

Just some background. I don't know to much about Space but I love it. I love the program, I have been losing myself on adventures and journeys of discovery and reflection (Being brought down by some graphical anomaly's I'm having). I previously found my love for space in the game Elite Dangerous, but traveling in that game and enduring loading screen after loading screen just became to much and I parted ways with it a few years ago. I always wanted to explore and see everything space has to offer and now with Space Engine I get to do what I always wanted to do but couldn't achieve because of the mechanics in Elite.

I look forward to taking in the knowledge here and joining the community, thank you developers for this amazing program, I am happy to support the effort (I had heard of Space Engine years ago, use to read about it, bought it the second it hit Steam).

OK, thanks for the clarification. I was getting really confused here and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong...

Hello, just introducing myself.

I've been following SE for a little over a year by now, but after buying 0.9.9.0 last week I figured that it's a good idea to get involved with the community and forums.  Also, I like space.  That is all.

Just got SE 0.9.9.0, love it. Been following SE since early 2017, just been a lurker till now. I love it all but the thing I admire the most about SE is the soundtrack.

Well, I just got the software and I have to say as a 64 year old professional airline pilot/instructor/check airmen/FAA Examiner on the 747-400, 747-8, 787, 757, 767 with over 30,000 hours total split between training and checking, I am blown away by the software. I got into aviation because I grew up in the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo era and was a space junkie. What I would have given to have this back then, unbelievable one guy did this, it is truly a piece of art.

Hi all,

I started playing SE just a few weeks ago and I love it. It's really awesome!

I first learned about SE in the Falcon BMS forum. Since I also play Pioneer (an Elite II like space adventure with newtonian flight model), I was interested immediately and checked out the 0.98 version. And when I saw the orbital HUD mode, I thought: cool, that's one thing that I always missed in Pioneer.

Now I have 0.99 and already made my to first custom ships: Apollo CM and an Agena target vehicle, although the models are only *very* basic so far; I primarily did them to try out "visually-aided head-on" docking: it works really good, much easier for me than docking e.g. a Skylone to an X-Wing.

And of course I have also been *inside* some black holes and then looked back at the universe outside 8-)
To be honest, the first trip inside was an accident ;-)
