Below the specs:
This is a weird Steam requirement: if game is listed as VR-ready, minimal specs must be suitable for VR. Also game must have all its functions accessible by VR controllers, otherwise VR controllers support must not be listed on the store page (Controllers can't be used to access four side panels).CPU and graphics card specifications listed above are for VR. In the non-VR environment, SpaceEngine can be run on a much weaker hardware. The most important is dedicated video memory size: the minimum is 1 GB (in which case some functions will be disabled), but the more you have, the better!
But.. excuse my ignorance Master Space Engineer.., isn't this logical? I mean if an application supports a feature where the feature itself has a minimal requirement higher than that of the application, shouldn't the final requirements cover both?
If it's a feature that only a very small percentage of the userbase will ever use, or could even use? And when many other programs on the same platform do not use that same convention?
Correct* and correct. *(I didn't know that only ~1% of steam users was using VR - I was guestimating that it was around ~1/3 i.e33% totally off )).
Overview is an entirely different product. It only uses SE as its engine. I'm certain everything in SE 0990 can be experienced in VR, and Overview will remain a separate game.SpaceEngine supports VR, so what about OVERVIEW? Will all its functions be integrated into SpaceEngine? Or is SE just supporting VR exploration, and OVERVIEW with explanations?
Yes, this allows you to download only the ones you want, so you don't need to wait for 45 GB worth of files to download if you don't want them all.
Oh good, that makes sense. Got a little concerned there xDYes, this allows you to download only the ones you want, so you don't need to wait for 45 GB worth of files to download if you don't want them all.
The DLCs are free, by the way, not paid, if that's what you were wondering.
No, that does not determine the release date, it only determines the earliest possible release date, as mentioned in the blog post. It could be released later than June 10, but not sooner.
Just curious, what could delay the steam release?
Bugs, platform issues, thermonuclear war...Just curious, what could delay the steam release?
