Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

13 Jun 2019 06:42

I'm having issues with reflections. They do not seem to be working properly in realistic exposure mode
Reflections and PBR are very experimental features at the moment, combined with auto-exposure they do give those results at the moment. We'll have to wait for a solution in some update :)

I also occasionally have a flashing system browser.
And I have the latest driver. I think it has something to do with too little VRAM.

How much do you have? My graphics - GTX 1050 Ti 4 Gb. Isn't that enough?

should we report bugs here or on the steam discussion forums?

I saw a few oddities last night when I tried -
- stars looked kinda 'square' and pixelly from a distance (not within a system, in the skybox).
- in a globular cluster when I rotated around a planet the brightness of the background stars in the cluster was flickering a lot as I moved around. They were also really bright from outside the cluster.
- nebulae seem super-bright. I was inside one and the entire sky was bright yellow, which seems wrong.
- I logged out on a moon orbiting a purple planet and when I logged back in the next day the planet was brown. Might be an atmosphere effect that went AWOL?

Maybe this could be adjusted in the settings but I couldn't find any that were relevant.

I only have 2GB. But I think it depends on the settings. For example how high LOD is set. And how many textures SE is currently processing.
But of course I'm not sure. It can also have other causes.

Can someone point me in the direction of where I can shut off the over bright on planets? All my planets look like stars/very white surface lol. I remember it being in the options in 0.980 but I can't find it now... Thanks!

Whenever I turn on MSAA, these weird artifacts appear.

Nevermind I was missing shaders or corrupt. I deleted the cache and cfg and restarted. All is working now & it's stunning! Love the surface detail!

Can someone check on our issue now?

We have OpenAL + the linked 2015 C++ runtime installed and are still not able to launch the game. Inside of steam it runs 2 sec and then dies outside of steam we get the 0x000007b error.

This is my dxdiag:

This is a file documenting the startup and loading procedures for SpaceEngine.exe: https://uploadfiles.io/klxmloi9

We have installed the game new multiple times and still nothing changes.

Ok i just spoke with duke from the team
It works for me now!
Basically, uninstall OpenAL (close all apps before that, then Control Panel -> uninstall apps -> search for OpenAL) then restart the computer.
Open the OpenAL rar, zip whatever and reinstall it
Restart the PC again
And then it worked, yay! :D
At least for me, i can't guarantee that it will work for you, but most likely!

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I think the central black hole of M 87 is too bright.
