Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

12 Jun 2019 14:59

So black holes are pretty op pls nerf, but for real though, almost all times I ctrl + g to the center of a galaxy the engine crashes, doesn't seems to matter whether black hole quality is high or low, very rarely they load in and all seems fine. They were fine on 0.980 btw.

SE log pastebin:

Specs: Windows 10 version 1903
AMD Radeon R9 390X
Ryzen 1700
8GB ram

Saw a few other reports about this, trying to turn on msaa also causes crash.

Thanks for reading.

Anyone else getting a bug that whenever I zoom in the f1 view, the blue circle jumps to the bottom right of the screen and the objects vanish?
To reality, through nothing, from un-everything.

I really appreciate that you want to help, but please consider to read the posts i've made in this topic yesterday and today.
I did. There is no mention in any of your posts about se.log not being created. To assume that it is not created because the application fails to start is beyond my capabilities - sorry to disappoint you :(.
One final suggestion - apologies if you already tried it - did you try to run the program as administrator? This is very unlikely to solve the issue but I did read it somewhere as a suggestion step upon googling the error code.
Ugh, i wrote that in the steam forum and didn't mentioned it here, sorry about that. :?

Yes, i've tried to run it as administrator. And in compatibility mode.
And i've googled the s**t out of my fingers about that error. Watched multiple 10-15 min Youtube tutorials, basically all sources tell the same stuff that was mentioned here or in steam forums...
Nothing worked...

That is the thing, that makes me so upset, never before have I experienced such an issue with a game. Something that can't be solved with the most reasonable and common methods. Sorry, that I was a bit rude...

Congrats. :)
But what is an "accounting mode"? You mean the compatibility mode? That didn't work for me, i've tried out all options, even Vista Service Pack 1...

I can't replicate it right now, but I think it's a known issue. When in F1 mode, you can always use the mouse scroll to zoom in or out.

DaniGalaxy, your graphic card is a professional card with 1024GB of VRAM, was good enough in 2010, but I'm afraid it doesn't meet SpaceEngine minimum specifications.

WiseXWarrior, you too, I'm afraid your Radeon HD 5670 doesn't meet minimum specifications for the program to work.

imbamakaber, you could try and disable temporarily your antivirus, as it seems an error appearing with several games on Steam, not related exclusively with SpaceEngine. Antivirus programs, as they do, are very picky with their predictive algorithms, to the point of removing perfectly fine operating system components at times. If it works, you can usually place SpaceEngine in an "ignore list".
If it doesn't, well we'll try something else.

Typbürste, thanks for your dxdiag.log. I see you have a Logitech usb audio headset. It's just a long shot, but  could you please try and detach that/disable it, reboot your pc, launch Steam and then SpaceEngine from the library?

Tried it, unplugged the headset, disabled autostart for logitech gaming software and made a restart, but same error code. Library launch closes after start just as before.

EDIT: I've made a log file from the process launch with Process Monitor, as a user suggested that in the steam forum. I post the dropbox link to the file. Maybe you can gather some information from that.

I have the same problem as typbürste and have been writing under the name of mynt<> in the steam forums. I'll also attach my DXDIAG log and the PML dump, I hope it can help to find our issue!

I'm having issues with reflections. They do not seem to be working properly in realistic exposure mode. Do you know if there is any way to fix this?

Bug report:

Using a URL Protocol opens SpaceEngine and does seem to spawn the camera at the desired location, but the image is the main menu's animation. Going back to the main menu and then continue Does NOT fix it, SE has to be restarted for it to work again.

Had to reinstall SE because whilst the flight sim loaded instantly, the planetarium took forever to load, which it did not do before. Don't know if it's my computer, bit I'll see what I can come up with.
