Looks like the old Intel graphics card problem (such as HD 3000), they are too old, can not afford SE such high-load software, even if updating the driver may not help, try to use the old version of SE.

LBV 2012-26, why did you respond to such an old post with something that a previous user already replied with?

GTX 1060 (6 GB) must be highlighted by green, it is one of my dev cards, and slightly faster than RX 580.
Yes, it is a great card!  It is the one I had put in my new system.  Although Nvidia driver updates still come very frequently!  Is there a particular driver version that is recommended for SE or just the latest is the best?

Can My PC Run SpaceEngine?

Hi,

I have just bought SE via my Steam account.

I didn't check the PC spec requirements as my other graphic intense games work.

However, when I run SE it loads the 'menu' page but when I select "Settings" it thinks a while then just bombs out completely, no crash just closes down.

Look at the spec does it need all these to run the settings and are there options to reduce settings to run or will I have to buy a better PC, please?

My laptop is i7 and Nvidia GeForce 940MX.

Or is there an earlier version I could download and play with until I can invest in a better PC?

Regards
Ray

Maybe your specifications are not the problem. I have a laptop i5 with Geforce 940M, 2GB VRAM, so with lower specs than yours, and SpaceEngine 0990 works well enough, with medium-low settings, but it's stable.
Please use https://pastebin.com/  to post your se.log file, which is located in your <SteamFolder>\steamapps\common\SpaceEngine\system folder, and give us here the address of the file.

Does anyone know definitively if Navi works correctly with SE?

I am looking at picking up an 5700 XT in the next month or so since they have a significant price to performance advantage over any other card available in Aus.

I heard that the OGL performance is quite good on Navi compared to previous AMD designs but given the card and drivers are still early I would love to know if it works correctly.
