The Future of Humanity & Intelligent life in the universe

25 Jan 2018 16:37

What IS the future of humanity? It seems we are doomed.
Well, at least the Doomsday Clock has been set forward 30 more seconds.

NY Times article

This is due to the recent failure of world leaders to deal with looming threats of nuclear war and climate change. This is the Clock's closest approach to midnight, matching that of 1953..

Doomsday Clock graph, 1947–2017. The lower points on the graph represent a higher probability of technologically or environmentally-induced catastrophe, and the higher points represent a lower probability.

I've waiting most of my life for this moment! This video is FINALLY accurate. :)

It's not a Doomsday Clock.  It's a Politically Dissatisfied Scientists' Clock.

lol well if the NSA UFO report is wrong and we don't have UFO flying about (though that 2004 video seemed pretty interesting) I think a strong case can be made for technological species going extinct for the most part before they attain interstellar travel.

Yeah I don't humanity is going to last much longer. I'd be surprised if we live to have a fully functioning colony on Mars. but I suppose there is hope...
