Makes sense.  But I got that error message when I tried to post here just after having posted in the science news thread.  I waited a minute and tried again, and then the post went through.  Not a big issue, but somebody might want to look into this if it's not intended that way.

Big Bump for the thread, but I just stumbled across this video, which is gorgeous, and had to share.  (He cuts off the engine for silence in time for totality).  Easily the best I've seen taken from the air.

I've also revised my corona processing again, and ended up with this.  Much less noise than previously.

Nice.  But you can easily remove the remaining noise.  For instance, try experimenting with selective gaussian blur in Gimp.  Use a low threshold in the center, and a higher threshold for the remaining area.

I hope we could see it total in Mexico, but we got a 30% partial eclipse. Here is a timelapse( ) of the partial eclipse.

Nice timelapse, astroclu!  Totality didn't reach Mexico for that eclipse, but you will get one in 2024 (and the totality will last twice as long -- over 4 minutes.)   The climatology also looks very good for Mexico, with low probability of clouds along the track:
