Help! I just broke my star!....

05 Jul 2025 22:40

I wanted to film an orbit around one of my custom planets orbiting the star Tau Ceti. So I placed an asteroid behind the camera and copied the star datablock from tau ceti into it, reducing its power output, size, and mass by 1000 fold to act as a lamp to dimly light the nightside portion of the orbital track.
I saved the new body under a different file name “Lamp”, and then opened the Space Engine to try her out….
The problem was, when I saved the new file, I forgot to change the interior name, and when I opened SE the actual star Tau Ceti was reduced to 1000th the power…. So I rewrote the lamp file to fix it, but I can't get the original star's power back.
The thing is, the file I use to drive the actual star is still intact at full power, I've checked it several times, so I don't know why I can't get the star's power back to normal. My .sc file is showing 100%, but when I open data on the star by clicking on it in SE, it is still showing a star of diminished power by 1000 fold.
Is there a way to get my original star settings back? They are there in the .sc file for the star but they don't show in SE. My system uses a separate file for the star and 8 individual files for each planet.

I am using SE 0980 on Windows.

Thank You,
