Measuring Landscape Terrain

20 Oct 2020 21:44

I'm working on a space opera using different 3D software.

Is there a way to measure Space Engine landscape terrain? I want to recreate areas of my planets, moons, and asteroids using Unreal Engine by recreating the terrain in World Machine. I would prefer to export the heightmaps directly from Space Engine but I can't export specific areas from each object, only heightmaps from the entire object which reduces the resolution of the terrain data.

I'm thinking about a ruler overlay, for example, where I can select specific sizes of terrain.

Have you tried exporting a map with a higher resolution?

I know this is a very old post, but if I remember correctly if I made the resolution too high it crashed SE.
I ended up using a plugin in Unreal Engine to create my planets.
