That makes sense. thank you

That makes sense. thank you
Yes, but only minimally, as nebulas are only just slightly denser than the surrounding interstellar vacuum. It would take going to a certain fraction of lightspeed for it them to become significant.Does gas in space (nebula) creats drag and heat like atmosphere when moving fast trough it?
Looks like nobody answered your question, so I am going for a rescue! How hot can rings of planets withstand? If Mercury had rings how long would they last?
If mercury had saturn sized rings they would just not exist after a week or 2. Icey rings like Saturn around mercury would not work. Rocky rings could work but would last longer and still be unstable I'd imagine.Looks like nobody answered your question, so I am going for a rescue! How hot can rings of planets withstand? As you know, Mercury doesn't have have moons or at least some object orbiting that is big enough to be spotted here. That's because it is just too hot there that it cannot form. And gravity isn't that strong compared to Sun that it just too close to Mercury, so orbit would be, as I think, unstable.
Okay, if it had rings, they would not last enough. Answered! But, it wouldn't make sense to just say that. Temperature would be extremly hot as expected... And they would also be unstable. When some rocks are closer to the Sun, gravity would pull it and they would deforme, but later they would be back to the normal orbit. And for exatly how long, I don't know. As they would be small, even smaller than Saturns, they could easly loose the path and change orbits. It is just for imagination and simulation.
Sorry for short answer, don't have much time!
You imagine well. Water and ice rings would just melt for a week probably. Maybe for even few days. As you said, rocky rings could work. But, maybe they would work for even longer than just 2 weeks. Maybe for one month before being so unstable that they wouldn't even have a normal orbit. If mercury had saturn sized rings they would just not exist after a week or 2. If Mercury had rings. We might have something like this here. In some parts of the orbit the rings would probably cast shadows over the planet, and in those shadows it would be extremely cold since there pretty much no atmosphere. You imagine well. And I have one request for you. Can you make rings for Mercury in SE? Modding as before Venus and Earth with JackDole. I think it would be interesting project! And how high temperature would there be? Would it be same as Mercurys since they also don't have atmosphere? If you can't make this, no problem! I was just wondering how would it look like!

If it had the same size rings it would look like this. Nowhere near realistic.Wow, good demonstation! If Mercury had rings. We might have something like this here. But, if you add rings much further away, like those that Saturn has, what would it look like?
And I also added rings like from Saturn in Universe Sandbox2and balance lasted in less than a month as I said in earlier post  And then it would deforme in some shapes before leaving its orbit and then starting orbiting the Sun. I tested that in older versions, so maybe it would look differently in newer ones. It would be interesting to someone try that.

I did Venus Earth and Moon here. Procedural textures. Thanks for the images! If it had the same size rings it would look like this. Nowhere near realistic.Wow, good demonstation! But, if you add rings much further away, like those that Saturn has, what would it look like?

I don't have some requests right now. Maybe I will find some later. But, as I am writing this, I will use this chance for one more. What would it look like on our Moon? And if it is just big, try also using some smaller rings. And what would it look like from Earth?

Nice pictures, but can you make one from Earth looking at Moon with massive rings? Hope I am not torturing you. xDI did Venus Earth and Moon here. Procedural textures. Thanks for the images! If it had the same size rings it would look like this. Nowhere near realistic.

Moon has almost 0 Axial tilt. You would just see a thin line across the sky and never see much of the disk.Nice pictures, but can you make one from Earth looking at Moon with massive rings? But what if you add some really big rings. Like you did to Mercury adding Saturn rings. Or even some larger rings that could be more visible in the sky.
