Back again with that Trinary System, and a new skin for the central "moon". I've always been a little hesitant to make a purple planet, but this time went with the flow of ruddy mud & nation-sized boulders in this amalgamation of near molten matter. I finally got the 16-bit elevation bump map sorta right, just need to heavily work on the clouds and atmosphere before the sun comes up in my world.

I recently discovered a very intriguing planet!

It appears to have developed two individual rings. It's situated close to a cluster, as portrayed in the picture to the left. The image in the middle is a close-up of an interesting storm of sorts that's prevalent all over the planet's surface.

Trying out new cloud textures, just cuz.

Helpful resources in obtaining realistic cloud images:

Daily photos from NASA's DSCOVR EPIC (Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera), located at the L1 Lagrange Point, 1 million miles from Earth.

Still doesn't make the cloudmap on the far left any younger than its current age of almost 1.5 to 2 decades or any less recognizable :P

I found this planet which seems to have some minerals in the exposed rock and there is many sites on it with the same fluoro coloured stuff.

You're absolutely right. That familiar look is what prompted me to try to find something a little more current.

From the website I linked above, I took 4 snapsots of Earth 60 degrees apart more or less, combined them into one image as quarter-equirectangular projections using a little Flexify & Photoshop magic and turned it back into equirectangular via horizontal cross.

Its' very sloppy work. I should also wait for a better day to take pictures of Earth.

Very cool xingqiu1, looks like a molten Lava Niagara falls. You won't find something like that everyday.

BTW after 10 post your links will show a thumbnail

Nice! What version? Any mods? I've never seen anything quite like that before.
