Hornblower, cool! For such a low price (considering it is a spacesuit), i honestly expected it to be a fake. The internet is strange sometimes.

Xoran, it's 100% authentic, a real collector's dream. Luckily, I'll probably get to go to space at some point in my life time, so I don't need to buy a space suit now :)

I would never go to space. I like Space Engine, and i like space, but i would never go to space. It is just too scary, too dangerous and too merciless. I think i will just sit here on Earth and watch space rather than going there.

Well, my chances that I am coming into space in the normal way, as an astronaut, are, unfortunately, minimal, or rather, non-existent.
But I have not given up the hope that one day I will be abducted by aliens.

Xoran, Earth is just a boring and equally dangerous planet to me :)
Nevertheless, we're gonna be stuck here for a while, so we better take good care of Earth

What's the essential experience of space travel?  The view?  The weightlessness?  Both?

for me it's the exploration/research and curiosity of what is out there.
i dream that i can explore every single planet out there or lifeform.
i hope it could be true, seems like i was born in the wrong time for that, but maybe just in time for mars or solar system exploration. and become an interstellar civilization.

midtskogen, For me, it's both and exploration, like spacer. I honestly would spend the rest of my life in space if I could. I just like to feel free from Earth. I was born here, sure, but that doesn't mean I want to stay here. It's just a spec of dust floating in an exiting cosmic void of discovery. We humans are meant to leave our nest...

Realistically, the space tourism that we can hope for within the few next decades, will only be suborbital flight.  Frankly, a nice view and 10 minutes of weightlessness isn't something I would pay a lot for.  However, if suborbital flight can replace today's 10-14 hour intercontinental flights, reducing travel time to less than an hour, the dip into space will be a nice bonus. :)

But not really worth the cost of a new car or a small home.
I have experienced weightlessness.  Sort of.  While I was in the air force, a fellow soldier had a license to fly small planes, so off duty we occasionally rented the local air club's plane.  He could fly us up to 2000 meters or so and plunge down at the right speed, and things floated in mid-air in the cabin.  We were strapped to our seats, but were weightless.  The arms weighed nothing.  But you lose altitude extremely fast flying like this, so such flight could only be maintained for a few seconds.  An interesting sensation, anyway.

The reason why I'm currently working towards my private pilot license is partially to become a "space pilot." I can give any of you guys a sub-orbital flight for a reduced price  ;)

Thats something I would like to experience someday, the price of a flight on one of those "Zero G" planes isn't cheap though.
