Personally I'm in no hurry to see an update or new release simply because I'm nearly complete with my custom Star System and Galaxy along with textures for all main bodies. I know the moment the update is released my work will be outdated and never seen haha.

So my vote is to hold off.
(Also, I hope I'm considered to be one of the elitist even though I'm not a beta tester).
CPU: AMD FX-8350 8 core processor 4GHz / GPU: GeForce GT 730 @ 1920x1080, 60Hz with 1GB adapter RAM / RAM: Patriot Signature 4GB 1600MHz 240-Pin DDR3 (only 2GB work, don't buy it) / Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming MS-7693

I haven't made any systems ever since I heard about 990

I'm only hoping a few lines of code in each script might fix things, or things like nebulae will be easy to edit within the engine. I know all my calculations for orbits or motions will be the same.

As far as I can tell, some new parameters have been added, but old systems should actually work, especially if they use textures for the planetary surfaces.

Procedurally generated planet surfaces will probably look a little different. Maybe better, maybe worse, I think that's a matter of taste.

That's good, because your mods are a staple to my SE experience.

Some shaders may be easy to fix. But the shaders that affect the surface of planets will be harder to adjust. If they can be changed at all, since they are password protected at least in the beta 12!

Well I hope Rodrigo should be the 1st to have access to this passwords. His shader modifications are a mandatory addon for me. :)

Really tho, I can't truly blame SpaceEngineer. Some of us, myself included, enjoy playing God a bit too much lol ;)

Apparently the steam version probably won't.

No. You will have to pay 990 SECs (Space Engine Credits) ;)
