Delete the file 'main-user.cfg' from the 'config' directory.
You may also want to delete the file 'save-user.cfg'.
SpaceEngine will then re-create these files from 'main-def.cfg' and 'user-def.cfg'

Thanks, is the default button in the controls settings a universal default button (will it set it everything to default- including the graphics settings?)
Thanks, so that will reset the entire program to "factory default" settings?
No, only the controls.
Thanks. I forgot to ask this earlier- is there a way to throttle down frame rates? When I have high usage on a program like Stellarium, there is a way to throttle down frame rates by editing the .CFG file and that lowers the usage rate, I'm hoping that can be done here also.
There is a parameter called loading speed in the graphics settings, higher numbers will load faster but with less fps, and lower numbers will load slower but more fps, if that was what you meantThanks. Oh, so a lower loading speed means lower GPU usage? I don't recall making a suggestion lol. There is a parameter called loading speed in the graphics settings, higher numbers will load faster but with less fps, and lower numbers will load slower but more fps, if that was what you meantThanks. And post suggestions in the suggestions thread!
Yes.
Post questions in the questions thread, if you have questions
Okay so I used some of these settings, hoping to keep my GPU temps and usage down.Change the following settings in the Graphics menu:Those are the least demanding graphics settings possible in SE. If those aren't good enough, you can try disabling some objects or layers from rendering (like galaxies, nebulae, aurora, comet tails, clouds, water, etc.)
- Anisotropy level: off
- MSAA antialiasing: off
- FXAA antialiasing: off
- Dithering: off
- Aurora quality: low
- Black hole quality: low
- Ship warp quality: off
- Diffraction spikes: off
- Lens flares: off
- Landscape LOD: -2
- Loading speed: (higher numbers will load faster, but will lower framerate while loading terrain)
- Eclipse shadows: off
- Ring shadows on sky: off
- Planet shine: off
- Night side lights: off
If that still doesn't work, then there's not much you can do. SE is a fairly demanding 3D program, and generally requires dedicated graphics hardware to run well.
Just a relatively normal cold desert.
