Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Anyone recently having performance issues with spacecraft addons? For example the ISS had little to no difference in fps but now when I go near it the fps drops to 7, this happens to all spacecraft. I tried looking for them in steam to try remove and re-add them but I can't find where in steam to ...

Yes, performance is almost halved by using emulated FP64.
Still a lot faster than native FP64 since that is 1:64 rate on nvidia and a still slow 1:16 rate on AMD.

Rings shader doesn't uses doubles, it uses emulation through two floats.
Ah got it.  So doubling up on FP32s and not native FP64.
Does it take twice a long to compute like this compared to normal single FP32 operations?

How will performance of the rings compare between the latest AMD cards and nvidia ones given the AMD ones have much higher double precision, 1:16 verse 1:64 of the nvidia ones?   Example. 6800XT 1.3 TFLOPs FP64 vs 0.46 TFLOPs FP64 of the 3080.

Where did you get the 6800XT from? and what model?

Been trying to get one since launch but have not seen a single one yet, only 6800s and 6900XT which neither I want.

Friend took 18 lights at 4 min of Thor's Helmet.  So I gave a shot at processing it.   So many stars! over 5000 of them were detected by PI.

Yet again clouds ruined the night, only 7 lights on this one but the pic still turned out ok. The moon was out too. Also we discovered the security camera IR lights were right on the scope and the dark frames turned out like garbage as the IR was somehow getting through the tube cover, so I reused ...

What phone do you use

Just a cheap 2nd hand iphone SE (iphone 5.5).  Does the job. Only use it for calls, txts photos and internet hot spot sometimes.

Yes, corrector. Celestron ones are cheaper but don't fit the skywatcher ones, they are unfortunately a few 100 more in price.

Could be anything, cosmic rays, natural radioactive isotopes in the air or the materials in the camera itself or the nearby parts of the telescope.

I tried this once with ...

I don't have any hot pixels though, barely have any in the raw files as it's a cooled camera. I need more data to fill in the missing pixels, hence why it's still grainy. 10 lights is not enough, need about 30-40 I reckon, or more would be even better. The darks and bias help improve the SNR.

But ...

I reprocessed the same lot of images again in Pixinsight but a completely different way based on another tutorial I found and it got rid of the fogginess in the middle from the vignetting effect.

Much better but it's more apparent it needs much more light and dark frames as the fog was sort of ...

The availability of GPUs makes it impossible to get the models you want.

I want to get a 6800XT with water block or comparable with one I can buy. I can get the Red Devil standard and limited edition at somewhat inflated price on ebay (relative to the Aussie MSRP anyway) but blocks are currently ...

The 3090 is the only card somewhat available here in Aus, but at an absurd price of $3500, considering the 1080Ti was only about $1100 when they first came out here.
