Intergalactic trip in preparation

I'll try one more time... the SE warp drives operates by getting your velocity through real space up to about 10 km/sec and heading directly towards your target. It does this by showing you a delta-v — change in velocity — bug on your screen. It is saying "fly in this direction until the delta...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

37696 The funny thing is I see it most when I switch between cameras.  I was hoping to see a more defined boundary between the bubble and outside the bubble, but I guess it's easier to see when there are more stars in the background like when traveling inside a galaxy. But there is a well defined b...

37694 well I want to do both because just using the autopilot doesn't work well because of the velocity vector bug. Where does it not work well? When you have built up excessive physical velocity? Don't do that. I cannot speak for Vlad, of course, but I'm sure he did not envision using this iterati...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

37444 I'm a little disappointed, I thought there would be a warp bubble around the ship. That warp bubble is precisely the thing distorting the background. The funny thing is I see it most when I switch between cameras.  I was hoping to see a more defined boundary between the bubble and outside the...

You can use the autopilots, or you can fly manually. What do you want to do? well I want to do both because just using the autopilot doesn't work well because of the velocity vector bug.  I just don't want to wait hours for the markers to be fully aligned before going into hyperspace lol.  As long ...

The only marker you need to line up is the hyperjump vector with your target. The delta-v marker is the direction you boost to change your ships vector through space in order to do that. You are free to engage the hyperjump engines anytime you wish, but if you are not facing the direction you are a...

Some do, most don't. I guess I'll have to check them all out, I'm actually looking at them right now in the Hangar, and there must be at least 30 ships in here.  Is there any you would specifically recommend for me? Their names don't really tell me much about them.  I do see one named Frigate, that...

Thanks, I'm going to check out those planets.  White dwarfs do cast a ghostly light.  And those rings are extensive- far larger than Saturn's! I'll try the other system too with the rings shining through the stars, it seems like binary system have the most lighting effects, especially if they are st...

And I do check new posts but lately I've been involved with mastering this intergalactic flight thing lol.  Orbits with ring particles is next on my list! So if I am in orbit around an earthlike planet that has rings on it (like the one's in JD's Tau Ceti add-on), I can focus one camera on the windo...

Wow thats absolutely spectacular with the dome view!  Nice place to put a camera- does it say "cockpit view" when you switch to it?!  Is there a way to walk around inside the ship while seeing the view from the windows from the side?  Or just walk while looking at the windows and seeing th...

Wow this is a beautiful system and great lighting!  Are all your ring screenshots from the same system in .990?

Wow you didn't make this system yourself, it's like this by default in .990?
