0.980 used to have custom textures for the Mice Galaxies (NGC 4676). Why aren't they in 0.990? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/nt62wXasTwdoYDcGVZkD2sE4jzJfgMQCilXQ_aun9gJow7110l-JVmOOz90QNp1HuLv5hSpBusMN78GMW4gN4Jp08BD00GF_6h02qhm7jmPqBQWYweYbNVXebjVthLjtRgGK55KfgDoK__lmQOjcxiJWEKC2mXLyHqkS28UOMPJ...

That is completely normal. SpaceEngine can only detect on the date which version of two scripts of the same name should be used. Yes, but it'll become inconvenient for distributing .paks that include locale\eng-db.cfg. Either SE needs to make an exception for handling the modification date of eng-d...

If an addon .pak contains a locale\eng-db.cfg file to store "Franchise" attributes, after Steam updates Space Engine the addon's eng-db.cfg is no longer loaded, unless it's edited so that the file modification date becomes newer than that of the Space Engine app.

A-L-E-X , why don't you just look for La Serena on a map, then compare it to SE's Earth? The area of Chile where the eclipse shadow passed over isn't very big. La Serena is the city whose lights appear at the southern edge of the eclipse shadow mask: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/2f0UDvP4A7_JBS...

SpaceEngineer, please add the information in your blog posts about creating static objects and defining triaxial ellipsoids to the "Making Addons" section of the manual.

Level of anisotropic filtering on textures, I think. Less may be faster.

But even when I'm on very flat land with textures stretching off to the horizon, I don't see any difference in the graphic quality from lowering anisotropy levels.

Strange sightings

I've seen a couple of these planets now. What is that jagged edge supposed to be? It's not the day/night terminator; that's on the other side in a straight line. The soil itself appears to be jet black. yin yang world.jpg In 0.990, the black area on planets like this looks like vegetation up close:...

When it says "1.00 km / 8.66 km", 1.00 km is your altitude above the surface, and 8.66 km is your altitude above sea level.

By the way, Whatsisname's diagram explicitly answers your question, look which axis the jets follow. I wanted to make sure that the areas of radio emission always coincide with the jets, but thanks for the explanation. I can understand why Vladimir hasn't been able to implement astrophysical jets i...

Should we make separate versions of the Star Wars galaxy addon for 0.980 and 0.990, or should we try to make one addon compatible with both versions? The first thing that needs to be done to ensure 0.990 compatibility is to remake the cubemap textures for Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa so that they use 2...
