Intergalactic trip in preparation

I think I figured it out.  Using 30 billion LY as the approximate maximum distance of any object in SE from Earth.  Using Warp 15.4 I should get there in about 11.6 hours- are my calculations correct?  To do a full diameter trip of the SE universe it would be 60 billion LY so I would need to use war...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

I guess to answer my question of what my warp limit should be, I need to mention that I want to get to the furthest object in the SE universe in 12 hours.  What warp setting would do this and what is the furthest object in the SE universe and how far away is it? Is it this? https://www.reddit.com/r/...

GAIA to SpaceEngine catalogs

Apparently GAIA has 1.8 billion stars now wow https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-55178257 How much RAM would I need to import all 1.8 billion stars? I have a related question.  I went into my config file and it says that SE is limited to using 3 GB of VRAM and 8 GB of RAM?  Should I chang...

37814 he found that a warp drive wouldn’t need to use negative energy. Lentz’s solution would allow the bubble to travel faster than the speed of light. He still has the issue with horizons and just because he built a geometry which has balanced forces, he still has solutions within requiring these...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

37808 Thanks, Fellow Alex!  Do you think doing everything manually in the way described (1- sync velocity, 2- rotate to target, 3- set boost exponent) is the best way to go or is it better to use the Hyperjump button and try to stop the boost exponent from getting too high by clicking on a lower nu...

Unusual weather

asked your question on that forum, here was the response:

1943 on a regular basis [for hourly records], but physical records go back as far as 1889 [for hourly records], with a few missing months. Daily records go back to 1869.

I set the warp for my ship to 20 that seems a tad high lol, I got to NGC 300 at 6.7 million light years away in under 30 seconds.  Is there a way to throttle the warp to a lower speed fast enough not to make the journey so quick? I dont want to go back and alter the .sss file again (by the way it's...

37798 NYC Central Park the records go back to 1869, so it's roughly 150. Do you really think that they checked the rain gauge every hour around the clock back in the 1800's?  Precipitation intensity was very rarely recorded before electronic sensors, which have been deployed for the last few decade...

Surely hourly rainfall hasn't been measured for 150 years?

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

It is almost like they are trying to hold back panic by saying whatever they think people want to hear.

Meanwhile when it was found that this is airborne it should have been told, instead of being kept private.
