Hey I asked this earlier......when in orbit around a ringed planet is it possible to keep one camera focused on the rings and the other one in waterskiing mode, observing the surface of the planet from up close? You can add up to eight cameras per ship. Oh okay and switch between the different ones...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

37716 By the way, speaking of that, how many grassy planets have you found?  I'd found only one in 0.980 and one so far in 0.990.  They're very rare.  I try to keep lists of planets where I've found very obvious signs of life (like a grass covered world.) Grass? I've come across plenty of planets w...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Glad I am not the only one who does these long intergalactic trips!  You went from Earth to the Andromeda Galaxy or did you build the ship there? I created both ships in a low orbit around the Moon this time and docked my Skylone on the big ship there (just for fun). A warp drive makes extreme dist...

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

37719 Looks like everyone is moving onto Booster shots now Alternatively, everyone could face the fact that the vaccines aren't as efficient against the pandemic as advertised and rather focus on why it is so. Everyone is frustrated here because they are forced to go back to mask wearing.  Particul...

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

Still no sign that the vaccines are as efficient as initially advertised.  Since the recent variants are regarded more contagious, does it mean that the vaccines basically makes these variants more or less like the original virus, and with social restrictions now being lifted, the world is in reali...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

I would suggest that in the middle of another galaxy in another universe are stars, objects orbiting their stars and plans, in the center of the universe (except our universe) are galaxies, etc., In the middle of the megaverse there would be universes The universe would be longverse, the middle ter...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

I picked the one-half degree out of the air, as a sample of a small angular error resulting in a large miss at the other end.  The point really being that the sooner you make course corrections, the less energy (and time) you will have to expend to make that change. Right I noticed that too, which ...

Intergalactic trip in preparation

37702 I'm actually not sure about the answer to the other question but let's try some deductive reasoning.  The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.54 million light years away and about 3 degrees wide.  A galaxy that is 6.7 million light years away is 2.64x further away than M31 but since the course correction w...

I'll try one more time... the SE warp drives operates by getting your velocity through real space up to about 10 km/sec and heading directly towards your target. It does this by showing you a delta-v — change in velocity — bug on your screen. It is saying "fly in this direction until the delta...

37696 The funny thing is I see it most when I switch between cameras.  I was hoping to see a more defined boundary between the bubble and outside the bubble, but I guess it's easier to see when there are more stars in the background like when traveling inside a galaxy. But there is a well defined b...

37694 well I want to do both because just using the autopilot doesn't work well because of the velocity vector bug. Where does it not work well? When you have built up excessive physical velocity? Don't do that. I cannot speak for Vlad, of course, but I'm sure he did not envision using this iterati...
