I may have planted these too close to each other lol.  The leaves actually move in the breeze.

Thanks, I'm just starting to experiment with non autopilot flying lol.  The ships are gorgeous, they would look nice over this world I have found. I'm going to name it Alexworld since it is the first grassy planet I have found in 0990.  I'm adding trees to it (the grass was already there when I land...

Asteroids, meteors, and meteorites

Widespread reports of a bright fireball that appeared over the central US including reports and videos out of Texas.  I wonder if this object is related to the one you mentioned, Mid?

You are not doing your homework. I can't explain them any more clearly than this: Familiarizing yourself with the controls . Scroll down a little... For your current problems, ship engines may be too powerful, so you have no fine control. Planet's atmosphere too dense, harder to control a ship. Als...

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

37194 Thanks for the infection rate measurement for Delta, Wat, is this variant any more lethal than the original? Sure thing. My understanding is also that it's a bit uncertain and difficult to measure, but it's either about the same or a little higher (for people who have neither been vaccinated ...

What web browser do you you use? (POLL)

I never even heard of Brave!  What makes it so good? I use both Firefox and Chrome and both use a lot of memory!  I also use Opera, but unfortunately Opera is now just another version of Chrome.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Thread

37188 I wonder if there is a quantitative comparison about how much more contagious it is vs the original. What I have read is that Delta is about 50% more transmissible than Alpha (the UK variant), which was about 50-70% more transmissible than the original. So if R 0  for the original virus was b...

37143 Florida also only reports rates on Fridays, obviously trying to undercut media attention on the issue. I love it. Things can't change if we don't observe them. The faster things are changing, the less often we should check. :) https://i.imgur.com/ZJhisT6.png I love it- it's like the philosoph...

SpaceEngine TODO

Can we add 'proper relativistically done black holes' to that list? SpaceEngine in its mathematically inaccurate depiction of the Universe only furthers the notion that black holes are dark inside. Doing an estimation of a freefall geodesic rather than a quasi-stationary vantage point would be good...

37172 The rotating bases you mentioned in the other thread, are they actual Workshop add-ons or do you have to construct them yourself using the tools you mentioned? Here . And as far as I know, there are no ships with rotating parts while other parts remain stationary. I do not believe that is pos...

it's easier to tell from the videos I made that the leaves move with the breeze, but you can also see hints of it when comparing the above image to the one below

Pick a planet with less dense atmosphere to practice. The scroll wheel will increase your main engines, but if you are on the ground, you will likely not go anywhere (unless you are pointing up, at a reasonably steep angle). And keeping auto-level on will prevent you from making pitch adjustments. ...

37074 Hey, what kind of troubles have you gotten into with ships in 0.990? I haven't noticed any big change since 0.998 (although there are obvious issues), what did you see break? Oh! Another thing that bugs me with the ships — and it is also an issue in .9.8.0, but not fixed in .9.9.0 — when you ...

37167 Well I was trying to get the ship to go faster than the paltry 1.85 m/sec I was getting.  I tried using the mouse scroll wheel to increase the speed but it had no effect. Looks like you were on the ground. Use the hover jets first to get off the ground. Planet HUD? Hor (horizon) mode is what ...
